I emailed my MA about the speculation of the start of production being mid August. He just responded with
"that was an early prediction but was changed. Countryman are already starting production now."

So hopefully we'll see our countrymans sooner!

I went in and ordered my Countryman today! As long as it comes in before ski season, I'll be happy.

I received my production number today! One other question for any of you-- In the owner's lounge, it lists the factory ordered options and has some of them like sport suspension, interior and roof colors, etc. It does NOT have any of the bluetooth or Harmon/Kardon options that I selected.

Is that list just not a complete list, or do I have a problem?

If you bought it in a package, then no, usually it will just include the package name, which then includes whatever is in that package without listing each item separately. So if it says "Cold Weather" you know you are getting heated seats without listing it.

Well, after 3+ months of test drives and research I will be going to see my MA either Monday evening or Tuesday to place my order. We decided on Non S LC BRM, sport seats, auto, trans and AC, HK Sunroof, cold package, split rail. I know that someone recommended park assist (after driving a Saturn Aura for 1+ years) backing up will be no problem. Adaptive headlights? Is that really necessary? other than that I see nothing else that I need to order.

My first post! So excited!

If i were you i would really reconsider getting the S model. I've driven both and it makes a world of difference in highway driving(having to pass). Not sure if you're going non-S for price reasons but if not, then i would definatly look at the threads here the non-S owners made, none are very happy from what i've seen.

just my .02, happy to see another picking this vehicle. I put in my 2012 order last friday! Traded in my 2010 Camaro SS!

Pfffft...I'm very happy! ^.^ In fact, I put the "hap" in happy, yo!

And to mrluckypa: Congrats! One thing I would have liked on my car though are front fog lights >__> *sigh* If only I'd known...oooohhh...and some Xenons, but I really can't say I have any "beef" with anything else! And the aforementioned things are mainly for cosmetic purposes anyways...

I have considered the S and due to financial constraints, I cannot go for it. It's not just the cost of the vehicle but the requirement for 91 octane fuel and other ancillary costs.

I'm just wondering, everyone with a production number, has any of your cars actually start production yet? I talked to my MA and was told i would not get a production number until my car actually started production.

Haicu923 - You should get a production number prior to starting production. My Countryman is currently "On Order" and the order status after that is "scheduled for production." Maybe your MA is thinking of the VIN? But I thought even the VINs were assigned prior to production.

It amazes me how clueless some MAs can be.

My MA printed out a sheet that has all my options as well as the production number. It's definitely hit or miss when it comes to MAs and/or dealerships in general.

Called the hotline today with my production number. I was told they have no idea when my car when will be assigned a VIN and they also didn't know if production had resumed. I ordered on 7/8. Anyone hearing something different out there?

The latest info seems to point to a resumption of production in Austria (for the Countryman) on Monday, 8/15. Oxford production is on a different schedule.

Went to my dealer today and finally got my production #. Still not scheduled for production yet. I did go to another dealer to ask about production dates and he said manual trans are first week of Aug. And auto trans starts second week. Not sure if that holds true though...

Checked the OL this morning and status is now 'Scheduled for Production'. Upon calling the MINIUSA number and going through the automated prompts, a recording stated an estimated completion date of 8/17/2011. Speaking with a rep didn't yield any additional information.

when it says scheduled for production, does it give you a production start date?

Sounds like the east coast is getting into production first! Hope you guys keep the rest of us updated so we can wait vicariously through you folks.

I hope the production dates aren't going to be rolling westward because it would be very sad news for those of us in Hawaii.

Mine still says On Order. I thought I had the first week of production. I wonder what's going on.

My MINI was ordered around 7/9. I've been checking the owner's lounge daily, and today, I received a VIN and the status moved from "On Order" to "Scheduled for Production!" I called ASK-MINI and their automated system gave me an estimated completion date of 8/17. Anyone have an idea of a rough delivery timeframe after the completion date? My dealer is in LA.

You could be looking at a month.

It usually doesn't leave right a way and then it's about a one week sail to the east coast, then it's longer to the west coast via Panama Canal.

Doh! Suspected as much. Must try not to think about it during the wait.
