My SA said my car has shipped - but no results on this site when I try to track. Could I be on another shipping companies manifest? Is there even another service used, or is this the only one?

Yep! A carrier that goes by K-Line. Unfortunately they don't have a site to track. If your MA can get the name of the Vessel you can track it that way on another site. http://marinetraffic.com/ais/datashe...a=A&level0=200

Hey Beau,

Same story with mine, I enter the VIN, and no items found. I guess I should be more patient. :(

I'm sure you've checked this out already, but this thread is pretty awesome and gives great detail and explanation as to how to find out exactly which carrier your car will be on based on the info in the Owners Lounge: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d-updated.html

Good luck and happy tracking!!

^^I found mine! (started a new thread for others that might be on the same ship). I was copying and pasting the VIN my SA gave me - however he had a space in between the number sequences and it was coming up with no results. Once I took that space out I found my car finally! Hope you're on board with me too!

It has been awesome.
Great smooth ride...I am really happy with the base model. I don't see any reason to have the S. Peppy, fun, nice tight gear ratio. Great pickup. Love the Vrooom... Totally love the color. The white contrasting top and mirrors are great....what else can I say?

Hearthand.....congratulations on your new Countryman. I found it interesting you like the base model just fine. I am ordering a Countryman later this year and that is one thing I am struggling with, Base vs. S. So S is not worth it? I would like to spend the extra $$ on options, but don't want a car that won't get up and go!!

Obviously I'm not Hearthand, but I wanted to provide some input. I have owned two Mini base models and have been completely satisfied with both of them. My current CM is plenty fast and has great pep. IMHO it can be too fast at times simply because it rides so well and I fail to notice how fast I am going... Luckily for me, the state police don't fail to notice such activities. I guess going 87 with a 70 limit is bad? Who knew?

Also, considering most issues that arise with the cars tend to be on the S models, it just seemed like a no brainer to get the "slow" car, so to speak. I'm really happy with it and loved the chance to get all the options. I support the base model choice! woot woot!

Jason, I just got my SB CMS, and I absolutely love her! it's not just the sport mode and the pickup but the looks as well. I love the look of the S version more so than the base looks. But that's just mho. To each his own! Especially in a car that you can you-ify. Make it yours!

Oh Garm, thanks! She's beautiful! I'll post pics tonight!
It's supposed to be nasty and rainy today; I'm hoping it holds off until we can make the 3 hour trip home.
We didn't get to visit the clear bra guy this weekend and I'm a little bummed about that. Probably try again in a couple weeks.

Mini Mouse,

Congratulations, I am so jealous!! I can't wait to see some pics! I was thinking of the base model so I could get more options inside! Still undecided! I would get out of here (Dallas) soon, supposed to get really bad by 5:00pm. Be safe and have fun driving home!!

Jenben,

Thanks for your insight. I guess I'm going to have to keep thinking about it. I need to drive a base model again, it has been awhile. The last few CMs I drove have been S models. I am also waivering between True Blue and Cosmic Blue. Do you have any pics to share of your Cosmic Blue CM?

Plenty of pep in the base. I'm a lead foot generally and I am surprized how well this thing gets me to 60 before I know it....
I was worried about the twin turbo with experiences I've had with turbo repairs in the past and just after I ordered, Mini recalled the turbos for an issue with the 2nd water pump...Now having said that, from what I've read, there's a difference in the options that are available in the base, and some other structural changes that are in place in the S vs the base...so you need to weigh those things as well...

Have any of you ever painter taped your car before getting it clear bra'ed?
Curious to know.
