I think you're right! Did you get the rack for looks or are you going to really use it?

There have not been a lot of True Blues around here. The dealer I bought from has sold more white, silver and surf blue than TB. I see white Countrymen everywhere, which is one of the reasons I wanted to do a different color. My past 3 cars have been silver, white, grey....so I needed a splash of color in my life. So far, everyone who has commented on my MINI loves the color. I went out of my comfort zone ordering TB....but now, I couldn't be happier! She really needs to be washed.
I got my MINI 2 weeks ago and it has rained constantly! She parks in the driveway...so no cozy garage for her.
I looked on a thread about detailing and it was waaaaay too complicated for me! I just wanna keep her clean and shiny and looking good....but some of the info about detailing is CRAZY!!! If anyone has some products and tips....please share!
I am having trouble figuring out how to post pictures....

Ha, I Just read that Viv is the ride. Love it.
I dont have a name yet. Wanna help me?
In ref to your last message:
YES, I will be using the roof rack. kayaks, luggage rack (not weird bullet thing).
And in September I have a painting that will be strapped up there somehow???
Bikes will eventually be going on the rear bike rack that hooks on back.
Its pricey so thats on next summers list.
Stipes: I like with and without. I actually almost bought the all white CM. However, everyone and there mother in DC has white, black, silver and brown cars sooo. I changed up the scenery
White looks sharp and sporty/happy, black changes the color, but still looks stealthy.
Roof rack for you? Yes, If you need a reason, just strap an armadillo up there if you have nothing else and drive it around town like its completely normal.

Yeah I totally went out of my comfort zone too. I currently (until tomorrow) own an ice blue cooper s. Before that, silver prius, before that silver rav4, before that light blue, almost white beetle (color VAPOR).
This was a BIG step for me to go super bright...yikes.
So for detailing...I just use Gold soap for washing and the original turtle wax for waxing in spring and before winter. The Cooper S still looks fantastically shiny.
Oh so if you dont have a garage. Remember that the sun will bleach your paint a bit so if you get stripes and remove them, you will have a slight color diff. If its really baked. Although if you did remove, it may actually look cool to have stripe shadows.
Peopel will think its some cool paint job. idk.
Anyway, glad to know there are some True Blues out there. Im not alone

I took Viv in for window tinting and wanted to do the ceramic tinting because it has a lifetime warranty and more heat shield. FormulaOne is the brand name and Pinnacle is the "series" of tint I got. I just listed it in my sig in case someone wants to know what tint I have. I went for a white roof to help cut down on some of the heat too. The polar beige is just my color line, my seats are still black. The beige really lightens up the inside of the car though, and the ambient lighting looks great on the beige too!

Just trying out a new iPad app - it came out pretty cool, but I need to figure out how to make it smoother. A 360 degree view of my car.

Heres my little head turner...
2012 True Blue All4-
Born Jun 9th in Graz Austria
Delivered to me via Pittsburgh (Pittstop) Mini on July 13th
I love this car!!
Ride out of the gate this is what I noticed:
Rides way higher which I love, corners like a champ, cant feel the road as much, and is SUPER spacious. I am 5" 10, easy leg room all around, even with front seat all the way back. I can easily fit in back too, not that I will be back there ever
Also, right out off the lot it started at 19 mpg, which freaked me out. However by the time I got to Maryland I was getting over 27mpg.
I believe that I will soon be getting an easy 30mpg or more, the more its on the highway everyday. Also it does pay to use the premium vs. the midgrade. Runs a bit smoother and gets better mpg.
One wierd thing that I will get used to is the inside of the little bucket on car doors isnt really finished. You can feel the hardware which is kind of cheap and weird. And the armrest on door has this strange gap behind it.
I had to check the cooper S and it has a finished interior door.
Do I really care? No, but would it be nice if they made them just as nice as the Cooper S inside....Yes.
All in all, LOVE LOVE LOVE my beautiful cheerful Countryman!!
