Go MINI!
Best line in the article,
"The Countryman was certainly the sports car in this group, with quick, accurate steering that weighted up more satisfyingly than the Juke’s. It was the fleetest through our slalom and equaled the Nissan in quarter-mile acceleration. Brake feel was superb, and the 156-foot stopping ability beats that of the last Porsche 911 Turbo S we tested. What’s more, its transmission—the only non-CVT in the group, thus by default our favorite—was shiftable via paddles or lever."
The data sheet also states a 0-60 time of 7.4 with the automatic.

A few of the real gems.
Really, from reading the article, I'm surprised they called the Mini the winner. They had a lot more praising words for the Juke and more complaints for the Countryman.
It probably came down to looks, no matter how you look at it, it's weird and not in a quirky attractive way.
Speaking of grip, the Mini’s marketers should get one: $250 for a center armrest? Another $250 for a cargo net? Puh-leeze.

.. but it's not like they had better options to choose from.
Aside from the massive price gouging, adding $10-20k to the base price of the car for features that should be standard, my biggest disappointment with Mini is that they seem to try to engineer things to be just good enough. Like they could do a lot better, but they don't want to possibly hurt their BMW sales and they get away with it because in North America manufacturers still don't believe there's a market.

I finally got around to cracking the latest copy of CD and this was the first article I read.
While I am a big fan of MINI, the price difference between the Juke and the CM is insane. As tested, the CM is a full 45% higher than the Juke . In a rational world, the MINI should have lost based on pricing alone, but given the top spot in the comparo and how well the CM is selling, it looks like the MINI pricing geniuses have nailed the sweet spot of perceived value vs. price. I hope these guys are getting big fat bonuses.
