R60 Countrman S (Non All4) Fuel issues

Anyone else out there have an Automtic Countryman S (Non All4) with MPG issues. Took in the dealer and they replaced a faulty fuel level indicator and fuel pump. Before I was getting 280 on a tank before the computer says it is empty. Now I am getting 260 miles till the lights go out. Any one else exsperiencing this as well ?

I've had no issues to speak of.... Event though mine is an ALL4 and a manual.... If you are still in breakin mode I know that that gave me a bit of worse mileage... I was down to around 23-25 mpg now I'm up in the low 30's on average

break-in is 1,200 miles... According to the manual, you have to keep it below 4,500RPM (impossible to do) OR 100mph.

I have an ALL4 auto and my mileage is not that great in the city but on highway I do well. I am averaging only 23-24 miles city. If on the highway and I keep my speed down i am getting 32. I get around 250 or so per tank both driving city and highway and i drive til the range gets down to around 20 or 15 miles left. I have driven it down to where it tell me I have 0 miles left and i was around 275 and drove right into the gas station.

I am not entirely happy with my gas mileage, either. Luna is an S non All4 with 18" wheels. I wonder if that's making a difference. I do almost all city driving, lots of stopping and starting. I have about 3400 miles on her now and I am lucky if I get 21 mpg. I was only getting 18 in the break in period. Sometimes it does not feel like fuel is flowing into the engine evenly. Like sometimes I start from a full stop and the car has a very subtle jerky movement even though my foot is giving gas evenly. And sometimes I give what I think is my normal pressure on the gas and the car takes off like a bat out of hell. I wonder if this is a fuel mapping issue or if I just have a lead foot...

I think a law suite is in order... Mini is claiming the average is 25-28 City on the Countryman S (I havent even come close to this on the freeway.) Between the added weight and Small @ss 12.4 gallon tank, the range on the countryman is horrible. I drive about 100 miles a day for work and the countryman being my 4th mini, I often find myself filling up way to often. I just want to know why the designers decided that a 12.4 gallon fuel tank was acceptable for a larger car? I love my countryman, but I am filling up way to often and it is so frustrating..

It's all about the foot. My wife gets 26mpg in our auto CM, and I get 29. Out on the hwy we both get about 32.

2011 all4, 6speed, stock 17s, 80% city driving.......

I thought I was getting bad mpg. I'm getting 300 a tank, that's using the tripometer...

So around 24-25mpg........sounds right to me

Manual says don't let the gas range go under 33 miles......will cause engine damage

I get 18ish when I am making quick short trips. I get 21-23 on longer tooling around town trips. That includes the occasional "fun" when I get an open stretch on a curvy road. That seems about right. We are just past the break in period and I think we are in the low 30s highway. I have noticed the jerky thing (at times) and a couple of those surges. I have begun paying close attention to my take-off so I can note it when and if it happens again to see if it is something I am doing--or a real issue. The gas pedal definitely has a different feel from my last car so I am not sure if that is part of it. My husband does not drive it as often around town and has yet to notice it. We'll see...

I have a 2012 CMS manual and get 28.9 mpg:

-80+% city driving
-1400 miles on the car.
-SPORT button always ON

I went from an '09 MCS Hardtop that averaged 32 mpg so I am okay with 28.9 in the CMS that isn't really broken in yet. Go to www.fuelly.com and browse the Countryman statistics.

Update... 1900 miles 31.5 on last tank with 40mph average. I don't baby this thing either so I can't understand why everyones MPG is all over the place. I like in NH too that isn't anywhere near flat. When I fill the comp normally says about 370-380 miles till empty and I have never been even close to being under 300 per tank. I do have the 17" auto non AWD S

It doesn't surprise me a bit. In every forum for every car model I see something similar. Some people know how to drive for decent mileage and do it; some don't know how but never the less have good driving habits. Some have driving habits that kill mileage, but don't know it or don't care. And most of all, cold start-up frequency, average trip length, driving time, traffic density, terrain, weather, fuel quality, vehicle load, etc. are huge variables in fuel economy. On top of that are individual car variability and occasional malfunctions.
