Thank you 1BigPea!!! Very, very helpful and I truly appreciate it!
So, according to MiniMouse17, they're called "scuttles". I, too, was thinking of wrapping and have seen "kits" to change them to black but plastidipping doesn't look too difficult if you're careful.
Does plastidip hurt the paint at all? Like, if you get a little on the car? I know they say it peels off but I guess I'm afraid I'm gonna hurt the paint if I make a mistake... This question is also for the tape. It looks like others use the masking tape (blue paper) that you use when painting trim in your house. Is that correct or is it special tape?
I'm a big do-it-yourself-er so the thought of trying it doesn't freak me out ... too much, that is...

Oh, and yes that's normal blue painters tape, man has that stuff gotten expensive!
Let me know if you have anymore questions, I'm glad to help.

Awesome! But he's hitching a ride instead of you driving eh? lol
Keeping the miles low!
ETA: Eh...probably not driving across the Pacific...I didn't see your location until just now! (I assume it's getting loaded on a truck to get loaded on a boat?)

Moved Microphone
I just got back in from moving the microphone for the bluetooth phone from the passenger side to the drivers side. Very easy mod, 20 minutes max.
Anyone wanting to do this should know that popping off the trim cover is very easy and you'll need to re-route the wire through to the drivers side. For me it was not long enough.

No water journey just yet. He's only got 2800 miles now, driving him back would have nearly doubled that from S FL.

Just added a JCW exhaust, took about 20 minutes to install. I didn't get the intermediate pipe; I just cut my exhaust and threw on the new JCW muffler. Very easy and very happy. I wasn't too keen on cutting the factory exhaust but with a tailpipe cutter, it was very easy!

I haven't heard a difference yet but I heard after some miles, things break in and you get the popping and burbling. I know Sewell parts has a video clip of the exhaust. Personally I went with the looks primarily because the exhaust cutouts are too large for the stock exhaust tips. The JCW exhaust is a muffler that is clamped onto the factory exhuast with 2 larger JCW etched exhaust tips that have set screws to hold them on. In my opinion the cost for what you get is too much but I had a 20% off coupon so it brought the price down and it looks better than the stock tips. I had an Alta exhaust on my R56 and I loved it but I haven't seen it yet for the CM. Hopefully as time goes the exhaust will have the throaty sound that I am looking for.
