Put in a Mountek phone holder. Not sure if its going to stay, though, as it interferes with the operation of the volume/mute control on the center console.

I've got this same mount in our (2-day-old) CMS and I noticed this too. I shifted the mount over toward the passenger side a little, which seems to help, although it seems to trigger the track buttons when putting a phone into the mount. Anybody have a favorite mount (for iPhone 5, in my case)?

I was thinking of going with a proclip center mount and mounting my ipad mini instead. I'm sure you could put your iPhone in the same spot

Hand washed, vacuumed, a new tree air freshener, and a little detailing spray. Not a bad Saturday morning.

I went with an iOttie flex 2. It has worked out well. I have it mounted on the left side of Mickey's head above the center speedo. It has been there for four weeks now and has not come loose.

Got it at amazon

Ooooh, that's pretty compelling at that price. Thanks!

Also, today, took mine down the coast to Monterey. Did my level best to stay under 5K rpms since we're still in the break-in period. :-)

Today I used the mini rear bike rack for the first time. All in all it is pretty good. No problem fitting two bikes, but they were both road bikes. The fact that you can access the boot while the bikes are mounted is nice. There is a locking mechanism where the mount connects to the frame but I wish you could lock the wheels too.

So, no sticky residue left behind?
Now I'd just need a longer y cable that works with MINI Connected!

Smile Pictures of the detail job

I detailed my Mini over the weekend and promised pictures when I posted. Also if anyone is thinking about weathertech liners this shows them well.

i just posted in another thread how the mini branded boot liner is a little... less than stellar, this looks like it fits great.

Yes it fits very nice. It needed to settle for a couple days from being rolled up but it took its shape and is perfect. I also have the license plate frames with the clear cover from them and they are very nice and even have a rubber seal to keep grime and mositure out. I am looking at the side window deflectors in the dark tint so when i tint the windows 35% and the windshield 70% it will blend very nice.

I am also thinking about ordering wheels today I will post a photo I would love opinions.
