Ya know in the New Beetle world it was popular to make your own customers gauge overlays. I wonder how hard it would be for MINI'S, at least once someone with more talent then me provided a template?

Finally got the ol' girl back! Fresh dyno tune, alignment and new akrapovic Downpipe. Put down 238whp on the dyno, and power band is super smooth with new turbo! BMW made right all the mistakes that Mini Dealer made. Luis at PAW is the man, by the way!

Had the resonator removed, oil and oil filter change with AMSOIL European 5w-40 and installed OEM "Chrome Line" tachometer.

I was suppose to have the second cat removed as well, but I guess the shop messed up. Back to the muffler shop I go tomorrow.

Made my chrome grill surround red using plastidip and gloss enhancer. I tried masking it but was having trouble so I ended up just popping the chrome piece out of the grill (use tiny flat heads so the 50 or so clips) and dipped it as shown in the photo

That is awesome. I need to put on my list of things to do. It really pops on the Crystal Silver.

+1 I agree. Did the same a few days back. Just haven't got new tips yet.

The grill comes off very easy. Just 4 screws right where the hood release is. Then pop some tabs along the bottom. A little force is required but they come out.

The chrome piece is a bit more tricky. You really need small flat head screwdrivers and then go slowly and carefully prying each tab back. As you pry a tab back you also need to slip a flat head between the chrome and the black grill so the tab actually releases. There are two types of tabs also: snaps (http://www.efunda.com/designstandard...sign/snaps.cfm) and a much larger tab that doesn't look like a tab at all. The larger ones take some patience and for me required two flat heads plus one prying the chrome piece away from the grill. Save the big ones for last since they are all located on the top side anyways.

Third time is the charm. Finally have my universal Homelink remote in my mirror programmed to open my rolling code Craftsman door openers.

I read the manual but missunderstood it. Watched a Youtube video and that was the trick. sync remote to car then sync car to the rolling code opener.

Dropped it off after work at the dealer for the bonnet stripes, mirror/side scuttles, sirius, and roof rack crossbars. Still haven't decided which surf rack to get, the mini branded, the Thule base, or the lockable Thule double decker. Leaning towards the locking version. Should end up looking like this... minus the roof rack of course

Picked it up today after work, unfortunately it was raining and I was running late getting to the theatre for Pacific Rim (which was awesome by the way) so the picture is pretty lame. Better ones to come later!

Just reverse yourself and go back over that route back to the beginning!

I am trying to figure out how I'll hit 1,200mi. My weekly commute is 100 miles, so I'll need to plan some weekend trips.

Loved her even more: after a few minutes of driving, "engine" started singing and "coach" even encouraged him to consider a career in singing. Small things like this makes me happy. :-)

I've had mine just over one week....but I had a 200 mile journey after picking him up. Just did another 200 mile round trip road trip this weekend and I'm running every errand that I can think of and then some. ;-)

Installed a Sprint Booster. It definitely helps avoid the dead spot in the throttle response when I'm coming off the line.
