Just depends on supply and demand. Early on the dealers will hold firm because there's always customers that have to be the first to have the latest and greatest, and are willing to pay for the privilege...once they become easier to obtain no reason to think that there will not be discounts. When Mercedes started to offer the SLK55 here in the U.S. in 2005, I had to wait 6 months for mine, and there were no discounts (and some dealers were demanding a premium over MSRP). A year later it was not difficult to get a signficant discount.

Right - buying off the lot is a big help and right now I believe they're trying to move their existing 2012s..

+1 on Sharks' quote. Regional demand, location/market are all factors on price. Recently had a friend in Seattle take a copy of my build sheet to a Seattle dealer and they were $6k higher. The only difference was color.

Our local dealer is part of the Penske group and they move a ton of cars and are extremely flexible on price. (I've also have bought BMWs from them)

Thanks Mical. I assume you're talking about a 2012 build right? I'm specifically wondering about a 2013 JCW since they haven't started production on them yet.

Wow, $6k higher? You said recently, but wouldn't they be trying/willing to cut deals since 2013s are already starting to roll in?

Those aren't Countrymans. Non-Countryman 2013s have started coming in, but the Countryman is on a totally different production schedule. The 2013 Countrymans are expected to start after an initial 2013 Paceman production run.
