Locking car with engine running

Hello --

I tried searching for this but couldn't seem to find a thread. I have the comfort access system, so don't need to have the key in the slot to start and stop the engine. If I leave the engine running and get out of the car, can I lock the doors?

(Asked specifically because if I run into the store I want to leave the A/C on for the dogs!)

Thanks!

Leave the engine running. Take the metal key and manually lock the doors.

You don't have to use the metal key. You can hit the lock button on the remote or on the door handles.
