R60 Finally broke down... (and ordered a JCW)

Congrats Trystana! Love your color combo and I'm loving my JCW so far.
Question on your tires...are those Continental all-season run flats? I ordered mine with all-season tires and they came with Bridgestone Dueler H/P Sport tires, which are summer tires. I am upset with Mini USA, as I've now had to spend an extra grand to change my tires in the first week to go up to the snow.

A big fat no on the tires, hah. That was a big point of contention (actually the only point of contention...) with my order. I too wanted all seasons and ordered them as per the option on the configurator. When I placed the order, I was told they weren't available and later sent a memo from MINI saying it was an error to offer them as an option.
I tried to get the dealer to swap them out, but I would have had to pay for the all seasons *and* find something to do with the stock tires (no garage), and hubby got irritated and just said to forget it and hope for the best weather-wise this year.
I am still annoyed at how everyone acts appalled that you'd want all seasons with the JCW. An AWD car heavily marketed for performance in the snow... Should have them at least as an option...
Anyway, those are Continental ContiSportContact 5 SSRs. One review I found online claims they handle well in heavy rain, and its been wet here since I picked her up and I haven't noticed any issues so far. Remains to be seen how they'll handle in snow or ice, but luckily I have a pretty flexible job and can always stay home if I need to.
Tire issue aside, I absolutely love everything else so far! So much fun to drive, and so many fun options. I also like just going out in the bitter cold and looking at her!

I put Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus tires (non run flat) on as I drive from the SF Bay Area to Lake Tahoe frequently and need something that's good in light snow and on ice. I've had these tires on a previous vehicle and love them. They have stiff sidewalls, grip well on dry pavement, and do well on ice. I tested them last weekend on a steep road that was fully iced up and the Countryman did great. Very happy with the winter performance so far. In deeper snow I'm worried that it will turn into a plow. :-)
I'm going to swap my tires during the seasons just so I can go the next 60,000 without buying tires. I am going to take this issue up with Mini USA as it's not my problem that they got their order sheet wrong, but it did cost me $900.

Yeah I don't know how MINI makes decisions but they don't make sense.
"Let's put the smallest gas tank in our largest car!"
"Let's not offer the largest brakes on our heaviest car!"
There is also no modified air box on the CM JCW for some strange reason.

I admit I haven't read this whole thread, but does this mean stock 17's will fit ? I am still pondering ordering one, but I don't want to have to buy a different set of snows.

The brakes are actually the largest of the fleet next to the Gen2 GP. They are larger than the R56 JCWs by a small margin, and you can always upgrade to the full 13.3" set for the additional money.
The intake did not need a re-design, as it flows more than enough air for the motor, all the way up to the 300hp range. We only replace the CAI for more BPV sounds.
