R60 Hardwired Radar Detector

Hardwired Radar Detector
SO one of my projects was to hardwire my radar detector. I found this howto:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ew-mirror.html
but I did not have the same color wire so i decided to connect it from the fuse box.
Basically I used this add a circuit device
and ran the Direct-wire Power cord up the pillar and tucked the wire in under the rubber seals.
Here is a picture with it plugged in. I used Fuse slot 43, since i don't have heated seats.
I felt pretty good until I realized the power from that fuse box does not shut off, SO for now I need remember to unplugged my Radar detector
If someone has a better place to make this run let me know. I thought about the cigarette lighter but I don't think my cord is long enough.
Also here is a picture of the wires in my car above the Rear view mirror as directed in the post above.

I am using F44. It turns off when the car shuts off. However I am not sure what that symbol represents... But it works!

Glad it worked! Where did you ground it? I had a horrible time finding a ground screw, so I connected it to the screw that holds the cupholder in place. Horrible solution but it worked, so I went with it.

F44 acc?
I know I'm late to the party, but I'm looking to hardwire an aftermarket satellite radio using a similar method. Unless I'm mistaken, my F44 fuse block only works when the engine is running, and not just when the key is in ("ACC" position). Can anyone comment on this or confirm that?
Which fuse location would be a good candidate for this? I would like the ability to run the radio without necessarily having to run the engine.
Thanks in advance.
