Getting tired of slow acceleration
Wish I had the Turbo... Even my 1996 old Honda Civic has more pickup than my 2013 CM.
When I push the pedal all the way down, I don't need to wait 2 seconds before the engine kicks in. It's a little better in Sport mode, but not as good as my old Honda.
It's still a fun car to drive with its handling, but wished it had "normal" acceleration instead of a "slow" reaction to pushing the pedal to the metal.
Just venting.

What year is it? The Sprintbooster does not work with 13+. I've tried two different units and then contacted Sprintbooster USA and they told me that they are working on it for the 13+. We live in NC near the mountains and the Justa CM just doesn't cut it! We traded our 13 in for a 14 All4 two months ago and it's been great!

Jicm,
This may seem elementary, but have you tried driving in the "DS" - sport mode full-time?
I just came from a MUCH more powerful car (323, HP 6 sp manual), to the Countryman 1.6 NA Auto, and though at times in "D" the throttle lag, and overall response can be a bit soft, in "DS", I find the car to be near perfect for around town/commuting. I commute in/out of DC from NOVA every day.
In "DS", the car completely transforms into a different car altogether, at least from my perspective.
1) throttle tip-in is more precise/aggressive
2) shifts are very intuitive on hilly roads, gears are held longer, downshifts are near perfect
3) it does not default to the lower gears on hills unless absolutely necessary, making for a more predictable, and enjoyable drive
4) It does not lag around in 6th all the time, thus making the car far more responsive when feeding light throttle up hills, around city streets
and.....I have noticed no difference in MPG at this point. (27mpg, only 600 miles on it, 32 mph avg)
My only adjustments: lighter on throttle, unless I really want to zip off a light, and the up-shift into 6th does not occur until 59mph, which at first bugged me - no more. It makes the car way more responsive, and has not hurt the mileage. FYI - it is not good to lug around on OD at low sepeeds anyway - that shift puts a lot of strain on an auto. Ithink they did a fabulous job on the DS mapping, and the tranny programming. I have been having a great ride every day, and w/o trying, leaving most folks behind off stop lights. No one has been pushing me up any hills so far!
(we get a lot of that around here)

And here I've actually been running a SB on my 2014 CM JCW since the second week of May, 2000+ miles. It at least seems to work just fine (no CEL's either), and there's a noticeable difference between the off/stock setting, and both the mid and high. However, if even Sprint Booster is stating that it shouldn't be working on newer models, it makes me wonder what I'm doing differently, or if the increased throttle response I'm experiencing could be better.

After reading "Limp Mode Due To Carbon B/U"....and seeing a plethora of other threads regarding various forms of turbo failure/annoyances, .......
I will go out and kiss my non-turbo CM! In DS, it is very peppy and fun to drive, and is getting 29mpg on a commute, and rising every day. Turbos are cool (had 2), but finicky, fragile, and have a very finite life span. The NA version of the this Prince engine should run for some time, free of all the turbo related stresses/troubles. Slow is just fine for me.
