Unhappy gas pedal mod? help meh

so i have never likes bmw's drive by wire pedal. i find that it is far to light (easily depressed) and its lack of pedal feel is frustrating especially when wearing winter boots etc.. i have thought of a few different DIY fixes to add resistance, such as a low profile spring mounted behind the pedal (dont wana go into the guts and start messing with a stiffer spring). one day i went as far as to throw a sh**ty little stress ball behind it, but that limited my open throttle position to 90% (guesstimate).

help me mod my loud pedal for more comfortable motoring (again looking for more resistance)

cheers

Sounds like an accident waiting to happen......
There I said it...Not trying to troll you , but just reminding folks, messing with the fuel pedal COULD result in a failure of the mod resulting in a sticky/stuck pedal....and that might get you on the nightly news...or worse.

I wouldn't do it, however messing with the original spring seems like the safest way. From the realoem diagrams it looks like they changed springs during the production of the cars. Could be a simple fix.

thats why im bringing it up here. thanks for your input. I am not looking to modify anything within the pedal housing itself, just create an additional force pushing against it and in-turn keep the pedal from sticking.

its pretty easy to tell if your throttle is stuck haha, if it is id immediately throw it into neutral and cut the engine off. no need to go down with the ship!

i knew their would be fingers shaken by this post, but if anyone wants to constructively reply, thatd be great!

Sounds almost like maybe you drive with your seat set too far forward....that would cause this condition you describe, which is probably not good if/when an airbag deploys.

+1 on seating potion, you don't want to mod the pedal spring or stick something behind it, that's dangerous.
