In a winter tire thread a member had run 235/55/18...which are huge. He had them on oem bmw wheels of ~et 41.
I *will* be running these (if they fit) on 17x8 et 35 wheels, refinishing wheels or else I'd be testing fitting already. (found a set of winters this size for $100 so jumped on them).

i have an all4 with sport suspension, 1 cm lower than standard suspension
the stock 225/45R18 tires are 25.9 inch od
i run summer 225/50R18 tires with 26.9 inch od and winter 205/70R16 tires with 27.3 inch od
any tire larger than 27.3 inch od rubbed when the suspension compressed
the stock 225/45R18 tires are 25.9 inch od

the 205/70r16 winter tires fit the stock 18 inch rims?
