R60 Countryman Cold Air Charge Pipe remove

The cold air charge pipe is on the throttle body side. The hot air charge pipe is on the turbo side. The process is pretty simple.
Remove the clamps holding on wither end of the pipe. The "turbo muffler" is held to the plastic radiator shroud by (1) silver torx screw. I think the size is T15 or T20. Many people try to break off the mounting tab because it is kind of a pain in the *** to remove this torx, but I was able to remove it with a little patience and a small, circular "fingertip ratchet" and a 1/4'' socket to hold the torx bit.
Then, simply run the new pipe down and try to mock it up first. After making sure its not rubbing up against anything, you can tighten the hose clamps. Make sure the hose clamps are nice and tight. I used a flexible ratchet screwdriver to tighten the hose clamps on the bottom, since they are in an awkward position.
Good Luck. Drive Safe & Drive Often. Rubber Side Down. Over & Out.

[QUOTE=CountryS;4173102]Thanks a million for the great instruction, I ordered the hot air charge pipe, will be performing the removal once received.
Have you replaced the cold air pipe, if so, from which shop did you get it from.
Hey COUNTRY,
There are a few places that you can get the cold side from. I chose the "JMTC ICI Pipe" as it replaces the ENTIRE assembly from the throttle body all the way down to the intercooler. It is all (1) long piece of mandrel bent & welded polished aluminum. It is a PITA to install because it is (1) piece, but it is totally worth it as it replaces all of the curvy, small diameter plastic tubing. You can see a picture of it in my thread.
The NM one is also good, but only replaces a much smaller portion of the cold side.

The purpose of replacing the Hot&Cold Side intercooler piping is to provide the engine/turbo/intercooler with a higher volume of smoother flowing air.
The OEM piping/tubing is made of a smaller diameter plastic and has many sharp bends, angles, curves, etc.... These bends not only restrict air flow because of their design, but also create turbulence for the air that actually does go through.
Replacing this tubing/piping with a larger diameter pipe with minimal bends will provide the engine an increased amount of unrestricted air flow.
Combustion engines run on a mixture of compressed air and fuel. Thus, MORE AIR = MORE POWER.
This is very closely linked to the practice of installing "Cold Air Intakes" and upgraded intercoolers. COLDER AIR=DENSER AIR.......DENSER AIR=MORE POWER.

Thanks a million for helping me out, I already ordered the (one piece) pipe from the outlet of the turbo, now I will be replacing the outlet of the intercooler with the JMTC ICI Pipe (one piece) aswell.
