Does anyone have experience upgrading stock base speakers to Harmon Kardon?
Hey all, I am on an arduous journey to upgrade the Soundsystem in my 2016 Countryman (which came with the base system). I have purchased these Audison underseat subs and these Focal door speakers which I have yet to install.
My plan was to install the Focals in the front doors, however, I have found a set of 4" HK speakers and tweeters on FB Market for a reasonable price. Is it possible to put these in the front if I get A Pillar trim that holds the tweeters? Can they plug and play with the base system? Or should I just stick with the Focal plan in the front and maybe try to find another pair of Focals for the back?
Any wisdom is immensely appreciated. It's a wild aftermarket journey out here.

The Focal speakers, while they may fit, may only reach a small % of their capacity with the weak output of the base sound system. Not being able to swap head units is another example of form over function on these cars.
I put Rockford Fosgate speakers front & rear, (i made a thread about it) but realized too late that I'll need an external amp to power them. Like, if i turn the volume allllll the way up there's some sound. I need a minimum 25w per channel with them.
The base speakers are very efficient for the ~5w each of them get - Bavsound makes upgraded speakers for the MINI that can better handle minimal power inputs and use the weird mounting points.
YMMV, but be careful before you throw a lot of money on the Focals.
