2010 Countryman cylinder head fit a 2013 Mini base?

Wondering if I could swap a cylinder head on a 2010 Countryman standard, into a 2013 Mini Cooper base standard. I have various sites saying yes and no so thought I should ask the experts! My daughter has cooked her 2013, wey have machined it and it is out on the long end (twist?). Some say it will seat itself after assembly but that is a lot of work if it might blow up. What are your thoughts?

On another forum under thread R56 N18 Engine Swap, a comment mentions they heard it is possible.

But I'm skeptical. I would imagine if both engines are N18 it would be ok. I think 2010 could be an N14. Take this with a grain of salt though, I don't truly know.

It looks like it will fit. This hopefully turns out well. I will report back when together and it passes the speed test! Fingers crossed.

From my research, all R60 Countryman had either the N18 ( opera S) or N16 (Cooper) engines. You “shouldn’t “ have any issue with your head swap. I don’t think there were any mid-cycle refreshes to the N16 like there were with the N18 engines. If you had a turbo model, I wouldn’t recommend a 2010 head in your 2013 engine.

Well it all looks great and to boot we got a transmission, clutch, starter, coils, airbags, sunroof. So we were thinking of selling the car after the fix and now it seems that we will keep it. The fella we got it from was an enthusiast and paying it forward. How nice in this world that tends cynical.
