New Clubman on Order - How do I pass the time?
Okay, so this is my first post. First Mini purchase. I'm about two weeks into the Clubman order (four to go?), and the wait is driving me nuts. Any ideas on how to pass the time without driving myself crazy?
BTW, going to the miniusa.com configurator is NOT working. I keeping finding options I want to add, but my Clubman is already on the production line. Sigh... money I didn't need to spend anyway. Question: Are the wheels the same for the Cooper S and the Clubman S? The configurator on Tirerack.com doesn't show wheels for the Clubman.
I ordered a CR/BL Clubman S with Manual, Sport, Red Rooster Cloth/Leather, Color Line and Fluid Silver interior. Also with the Hi-Fi upgrade as the base radio was the WORST stock radio I have ever heard. I am really excited about this car. The exterior has grown on me, although I'm not sold on the barn doors. Funny thing is I walked in hating the looks of the Clubman, and walked out having bought one. The back seats are what sold me as I have 2 kids and this gets WAY better gas mileage than my wife's sport-ute. Moving from an Audi TT, I wanted something small and sporty. I hope this fits the bill.
4 weeks to go and I can't stop thinking about it. Help!

One way to pass the time is to read obsessively all the different MINI related boards (NAM, MINI2, Motoringfile - NEMINI (if you're in the PA/NJ/NY/CT area, etc.) and sites and perhaps find a local or regional MINI group to become involved with in any way you might like. Before I bought my first MINI, I researched it a great deal first on Edmunds and then hit the mother load on MINI2...that was 5 years ago... I actually attended a MINI run near where we live to meet some folks and learn more about the MC before I ordered one.
Pretty soon you can start tracking your MINI and call ASK MINI obsessively...before you know it you'll have spent endless hours online and your Clubman will be arriving!

you can pass the time by spending more $$$ and start buying accessories and stuffs now!
clubman s has an optional 5-spoke 17" rims that's that's not crown spokes. but you can choose crown spokes as well, so your rims are the rims that you ordered. if you just ticked the sport package and didn't choose rims, you likely got the 5-spokes
congrats and welcome!

You're screwed!
Been there, felt that. Welcome to the obsession. There is no cure. Just endure the suffering... it will make the eventual delivery even sweeter.
But yeah, read everything you can find online... and start buying mods... and join a local club... and prepare yourself for the possibility that the payment is the cheap part...

...well, everyones suggestions have been good and I tell ya, I wouldn't have survived without these boards! They have been a wealth of support and knowledge!
For me the 5 weeks seemed like 5 months but now that its here its was totally worth the wait.
One thing thats VERY easy to do so be forewarned...is buying accessories for your new clubbie. In 5 weeks time I managed to ring up a solid 2 grand+ in toys for my new baby! Trying to slow down now since I drained my savings but its not easy when there are about a zillion ways to personalize it!
Good luck
