On it's way!
Well here I am, with this hot guy on its way~~
I've never seen the color person, but in the pictures it looks so nice! I didn't even know that the Astro Black has a blue tint to it! That's awesome! Actually I remember one time me and my friend were driving somewhere and were stopped a few cars behind a black MINI at a light, but when we passed it (it was turning left) the color changed to blue... maybe that was an Astro Black... at the time we just figured that it was really blue but the lighting made it look black at first. Either way, it was a spiritual experience.

When I finally got "the call" to order my Mini (I had already been on the waiting list 3 months!), I went to the dealer fully prepared to get a hyper blue MCSC with black bonnet stripes. We were in the middle of the process and I was vascillating on black vs. blue leather. My MA took me outside to look at a blue interior in an actual car, when another car grabed my attention and knocked me out. "What color is THAT?" I gasped! "Well, that's Astro Black. It's my favorite," he told me. That was it--I was enchanted--I had to have Astro Black.
And for those of you who haven't seen it--it really isn't very black. It has midnight blue, as well as some purple, I think, metallic flecks in the paint. It is spectacular, especially in the sunlight. Photographs, and even the paint sample at the dealer, just don't do it justice.
I've ordered every chrome accessory possible, inside and outside, driving lamps, and chrome rims for my winter tires. She should be absolutely gorgeous!
Alas, I am still awaiting Roxy's delivery--I had hoped it would be before Thanksgiving, but it's looking like next Wedesday now. The anticipation is making me completely crazy!

Initially I had wanted the true black but when it wasn't an option I opted for the Astro Black. I have to admit that the first time I saw it I was not overly thrilled that it was so blue as I had also ordered the Red octagon cloth/Black leather seats and was concerned how that would look...
but now that I have had a chance to get over the fact that it's different then what I had expected I woudn't trade the color for any other and I LOVE it! It really is spectacular. The reason I had wanted true black is to hide the fender flares etc. (the mouldings) so I do think that in the spring I will have all of those painted to match and it will really be a head turner (not that it isn't already!)...
There are pics in the gallery but am having trouble downloading on to this page.

Sorry, I'm photographically challenged.
Squirt is now 2 weeks old, and I love this color more each day.
I swore I would never own a black car, due to the difficulty of keeping it looking nice, but as soon I saw this car on the dealer's lot, I had to have it!
In his 1st week, Squirt got treated to a custom graphics job, silver/purple checkerboard center stripe up and over, with matching side stripes. Turns a lot of heads in our small town.

No offense intended, but my Jet Black is just better looking. Too bad they changed it.
