F60 Carplay finally!

Hello. I have a MINI Countryman produced on 2017-10-24. I have the same specs that Budgett has on his Mini:
Mine has the 6.5” non-touch screen. I’ll attach pics of my menu, and system and navigation versions.
My main goal here is to make Apple Carplay work, I don’t care about having the non-touch small screen. I’ve asked here https://bimmer-unlock.com/collection...-active-by-usb about their tool and they say it won’t work with my VIN. Some say there’s still a possibility if my head unit has a wifi port.
Any ideas?
Thanks so much in advance.

So I’m kinda confused after reading all these replies.
I have a 2020, signature countryman all 4 S, with no nav. Can I get CarPlay, if so from who?
I chatted with bimmertech and they do not have a compatible system according to my vin, but several here state they got it working with a car that has no nav.

Had my 2017 in on Monday for service and a couple of warranty items, and they updated the software. Noticed I had no CarPlay when I picked it up. I just now finished using Bimmercode to reset my folding mirror/drive mode/misc settings, then stepped through the CarPlay reinstall process (purchased from Bimmercarplay April 2018) - it's in the 10-minute 'shutdown' phase right now; I'll run out in a bit and see if it took. I'm not looking forward to the call to MINI if it didn't.

This is exactly what I didn't want to read today.

Yeah, please let me know what happens. I've tried it several times and keep telling myself it's just the USB I'm using, but still no luck on two different USB drives. BimmerTech informed me of the change. I noticed they only had Carplay activation with the cable available now and asked about the USB. I sent a message to Bimmer-Unlock.com and they replied affirmatively with a link to the USB carplay activation, but I'm not sure they understood my question.

Does anybody know what the latest version was that DOES allow the CarPlay activation via USB? Trying to get all of my ducks in a row before I call MINI and ask them to roll back my software update.

I don’t, unfortunately but I’ll ask my service advisor. Bummer-unlock.com said they could do it with a cable for the same price as the usb.

As you found out, it can still be done via ENET cable on all versions. Found a user on bimmerpost who offers a download DIY install package (no remote coding session) via ENET cable on Windows for $70, which I may try today if I can round up a Windows laptop.

Super-reasonable price (far below my original USB activation) and I had the file and instructions within an hour of my initial email to him.
Easy process, provided you have the proper equipment. Need the ENET cable (and in my case I had to go grab a USB-to-Ethernet adapter to connect the ENET cable to my laptop), a Windows PC/laptop and an active internet connection while you do it. (It's not a remote programming session, but rather the EXE file apparently "calls home" throughout the process.)
Highly highly recommended.

And... we're back! Highly recommend hitting up kubax86 on Bimmerpost - see: https://g30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...&postcount=114

Hi all. I'm mostly active in the 3rd Generation Minis - Navigation and Technology forum on this website, but thought I'd post here as well.
I've helped a number of F54/F55/F56/F57 and F60 owners with hardware retrofits to add CarPlay with factory parts as well as CarPlay activations for those cars with the hardware to support it.
Please feel free to pm me with any questions.
Best,
Steve

I have a 2020 F60 with 6.5” touchscreen non NAV. Pulled my dash today and my HU has the WLAN port so my understanding is I need to get a WiFi antenna then have FSC 143 coded in to activate CarPlay...
reading the latest posts here, I’m guessing I’ll need to figure out the enet solution now...

I can’t message you either since I’m to new.
I have a 2020 CLB with 6.5 screen and no nav, is Apple CarPlay possible on this?

Thanks for the question. I believe we’ll be able to help, but will need your vin to do some initial checking. I’ll try to pm you now - if that doesn’t work, please post your vin.

@MINIZOMBIEMAN19 & @sb2002 , any chance you could help provide details on whether or not it's possible to add CarPlay to my Mini? I have a 2019 Countryman (F60), base model, signature trim, 6.5-inch touchscreen without navigation. Here's my VIN if that helps: WMZYS7C56K3F47114
I'm hoping it's just a software unlock, and it sounds like you two, or someone else here, will know more about this.
Thank you!
