So glad I found this thread as I was purchasing my 2018 MINI F56 this week. I am hopeful I can get Apple CarPlay either by replacing the head unit or maybe through a software upgrade. Don’t have touchscreen but I do have Nav.

Just found out I need to have the head unit replaced to the NBT-EVO version along with the large 8.8 screen :( Has anyone ever just replacing the head unit and leaving the 6.5 touch screen instead of swapping that out as well? would it work? as it would reduce the cost in parts dramatically lol

I have the same set in my vehicle and i was able to get carplay and sirius Xm with spending a ton of money or buying the mmi module or some cheap chinese module. Sb2002. & Ndal with get you up and running you just beed to verify if you have the wifi antenna port on your receiver behind your dash.

 

Has anyone been able to upgrade to the 2022 UI and get Carplay working?

i am waiting for my entrynav2 which i was able to get through SB2002 and once i receive i will be updating. I know its capable and working. I will post pictures up as soon as NDal is dine with his part.

I just did a few weeks back I purchased the 8.8" from @sb2002 and @ndal handle the coding for me. I just received my enaventry2 and I will have my system updated and coded for full screen carplay and move my sirius subscription to this vehicle. It was plug n play. You need to have it coded to your vehicle. Get with SB2002 he will take care of you. Here are some pics.

Morning everyone! I thought I would share a little update with you, So after doing some more research and despite having a few red herons thrown in, we were able to activate carplay in a late 2017 mini countryman. Here are my car specifications to show you.

Car built Nov 2017
EntryNav2 head unit installed + has a port on the head unit to install an antenna
6.5 touch screen

EntryNav2 head unit port connections - quite easy to gain access too.


Wifi port located in the red circle

You can download the E-sys program and using an obd2 cable to ethernet cable connect to your can and check the FSC section to see if you have the APPID 323 (0x143) if you do you can have this activated using an FSC code.

Wifi Antenna is installed + FSC code + removed all saved phones from the car - Paired a new phone Carplay up and running

I would like to thank everyone who assisted me on this little adventure

Now on to the next project - OEM retro fit front parking sensors to the car :D
