F60 Bimmer Coding the F60
#51
Coded for the first time today on my '17 CM and I have a few questions.
Has anyone had issues with some of the codes not taking? Some of the coding worked and some did not.
ASD off, start in Sport Mode, Fog lights on with high beams all worked.
Wiper blades 2 times, 5 time indicator, close boot with long press did not work.
Any ideas why those would not work?
Thanks,
Dave

Thanks! idrive is not in Expert Mode is it? I'm NOT a coder so I don't want to mess with anything in that area.

I just went and had a look on mine: Go to My Mini > Vehicle Settings > Lighting > Exterior Lighting and there you will find the option to change from the default 3 to 5 blinks. I didn't have to do any coding to have this option available to me.

Oh cool! I'll have a look later today. Thanks!

I don't remember. I'll take a look when I get a chance. To be honest, there really wasn't a ton for me to code. I didn't get the Nav option or idrive so I'm pretty limited on what I could do. Some of the codes worked and some did not.

I haven't seen this on here, but is it possible to code in the sport mode steering into the regular driving mode? Sport mode causes my fuel mileage to drop, but I like the heavier steering. Also, will Mini see the changes and throw a flag on the car?
If so, anyone in the Bay Area can be rewarded with a case of beer of their choosing for helping me code this in.

Can't you then customize Sport Mode in iDrive, so you only engage some aspects, but not others? I know you can, to some extent.

I have a 2018 F60 Cooper S ALL4 and so far I've been able to code the following using VLINK and the Bimmercode App:
- JCW Sports mode in HUD (advanced mode)
- Folding mirrors with remote / comfort
- Fog lights no longer disabled when high beams
- GPS startup warning message disabled
- Video enabled during driving and advanced codecs
- Artificial engine sound disabled
- Tire temps
The JCW HUD display alone is well worth the 50$ or so (VLink and App)
Has anyone had any luck enabling the rear fog lights (in the bumper) as additional braking lights?
I tried the following but no dice:BDC_BODY
3065 LceLampMapping4, ED Funktionen
MAPPING_BREMSL_2_L_OUTPUTset to nsl_l
MAPPING_BREMSL_2_R_OUTPUT set to nsl_r

So what have people changed? Let me think what I did...
1. Fog lights work in all modes, parking light, low beam and high beam.
2. Reverse turns on door handle lights.
3. Turned off fake engine sound by changing sound file from wave 1 to wave 2 in expert mode.
4. Tailgate can be opened and closed from the remote and inside the driver side door button.
What else is interesting and cool to do?
Thanks all!

How did you get the fog lights to work in all modes with Bimmercode? I can’t find the settings for that.

I was wondering if we could code any additional information to be displayed on the HUD? I only use it for Navigation. I don't bother looking at the speed or rev counter. Music only shows temporarily while you are switch songs/channel.
Have you guys/gals coded anything else on the HUD?
thanks,

I have opened up my speedometer on my MINI cooper F60 and changed the faceplate from miles to a fancy one with kms/hr.
Everything works well, except the speedometer needle which keeps resetting to a point below the zero kms/hr label.
I have tried placing the needle at different point but each time i connect, it resets to its home point which is a few notches below the zero.
What can be done solve this problem?.
Can anyone help?.Thanks.

- JCW Tach in HUD (This alone is worth it)
- Folding mirrors w/ lock/unlock
- Activated the trunk button to also close the trunk
- Door handle LEDs activated in reverse
- fogs on as welcome / leaving lights
- Nav warning message off
- Made the passengers side mirror flip down a little less in reverse.
- Made the lock/unlock beep quieter and lower frequency (on my 2020 it was extremely loud and high pitch)
For the JCW tach, I went into the HUD menu in the vehicle settings, as was able to have it on in all driving modes.
I also tried to code the tire temps for fun, but it didn't work.
