I bought the roof rails and roof box from Mini a couple months after buying the Countryman. I figured I would need it for longer road trips with lots of stuff packed up. I've had it on the car 3 or 4 times so far and it has worked nicely. It did not bring down my gas mileage very much either, maybe 2-3 mpg reduction was all. You can feel the weight up there a little bit in corners, but it never felt like too much. After you install it once the process is pretty easy. I would recommend it for sure.

I picked one up.
Installed it today.
It's a bit tall - I kind of prefer the lower profile wider boxes but it will do... we plan on keeping it on the car all the time as it's too big to really store anywhere when not in use.
My wife drove the car today and said she could feel it being pushed around a bit more in the rain but wasn't bad.
Pics...

Might be a bit more work to swap out, but if you wanted to reduce the height of the box by an inch or two, I've been using Yakima's Rail Bar System (actually I have a discontinued Whispbar), and it's also pretty sleek.

funny thing was i was wondering the same as i'm looking into a roof box. found some base cross bars for about $100 that look to match. so anyone know if the 2020 F60s roof racks are same as 2019? also i'll post some roof boxes i'm looking at once i find a few. planning to make my clyde a more rally styled countryman since i'm at my mom's farm a ton more and on gravel a ton. also.. All4 on gravel.. a blast!

Yeah I'm not going to swap our components now... I may have been served better to look around more for other brands but I kind of wanted to stick with the "Mini" brand stuff... I also looked on ECS Tuning and the ones they had were similar priced if not more expensive.

the box leaves good room on the rails, fits skis. It looks like it’s sitting a little forward on the car. Not sure where the lift gate swings to but most boxes seem to have the front line up with the windshield, so about 4-5” back? I’m not in Aerodynamics but might be the feeling since it’s forcing the air under the box and deflecting off the windshield

Your garage set up is fantastic.

Better? That is about as far back as I can go before it makes contact with the rear gate. I agree looks much better too. Thanks for the tip!

I also added OEM mud flaps which I think look great! Next is a new shift ****!

How was adding the OEM mud flaps? I cracked 3 of the 4 OEM mud flaps and intend on replacing them once I get a lift.

looks fantastic, definitely looks centered. Hopefully it improves the drive. It’s a fantastic looking ride. We are in the market for a new car soon and this would fit the bill perfectly.

I had no issues. The flaps themselves are just like any other I've used. How did you crack them? They are quite pliable, but you don't need to bend or twist them? The screws or clips don't put enough torque or pressure on them that they would crack, but even with full force they shouldn't crack, if anything they'd just compress. I didn't even lift the car up to install them. Did it with the car on the ground.

Been taking the F60 "off-road"-ish these last few months and it's been OK for the most part. They cracked when driving over some rocks I guess. Mud flap probably came down directly onto a rock as I drove over it. Broke along this seam for I think 2 of them. And lost a section of one of the flaps.

Just drew a line over an image I found on google. Red line is where it split. Might be able to put some epoxy--forgot how bad it actually was, but I remember some small sections missing.

I see that you installed directly over the factory-indicated install points, and it looks funny at the front, and the one I saw at my MINI dealership totally ignored the designated mounting points (which are only 26" apart), and went considerable wider (bar spacing) and further back as well. Does any of it matter? Hmmm...

Oh...I was premature. I see you came to the same conclusion. :-)

We had a Thule roof box for a while until I was able to locate a MINI box for a good deal.
I too spaced the factory bars a bit wider than suggested on the roof rack marks. We like it a lot.. much more stylish!
