2022 Mini Countryman w/Tracking Info

I'm very excited about taking delivery of our 2022 Mini Countryman in a few weeks (see below tracking info). We F60 enthusiasts must be rare birds in that I see so very few of these unique vehicles on the road. I'm 66 and find almost every other car so very boring to look much less drive . Our previous Mini ownership experience has been with a 2005 2 door hardtop, a 2009 2 door hardtop and currently our 2016 F57 Caribbean Aqua "Harley". My wife and I opted to spend our conventional burial funeral expenses on a car we could both enjoy today. Cremation is cheap and easy ;-) FWIW, we also own a 2021 Subaru Forester for my wife's Ohio winter driving needs. I also drive a F-150 for my business which will be returned in 2023 (lease terminates). My long term plan is to have the F60 as my primary driving vehicle for many years to come. Although I am at first leasing this F60, I am hoping I enjoy it enough that I will buy out the lease. Planning for vehicle ownership as a senior citizen is an interesting process especially when your heart is still 25 ;-) I'm not sure when I will be old enough to drive a Buick ;-)

Not much new in the 2022 F60 except for the heated steering wheel. Hoping for a relatively trouble free experience considering no major changes in this new model year. Reading through NAM threads, it appears that most people have been happy with their F60's. As I mentioned above, F60's are relatively rare here in Ohio which could be due to the limited number of dealerships (3). Another reason is the misconception by many that Mini's are too small. I fit better in our F57 than I do in any of the new Jeep brands like the Gladiator, etc.. Jeeps have extremely small interiors based on outside appearance IMHO.

Thanks to @Midnight Blue , tracking our new Mini Countryman across the "pond" has been fun and interesting even though MINI is shipping our F60 with a different carrier. NOTE: I recently discovered that our 2022 F60 is on a different vessel than first thought. Apparently MINI uses several different shipping companies for their vehicles. For @Midnight Blue 's 2021 F60, MINI used Wallenius Wilhelmsen (WW) as their RoRo (Ride On/ Ride Off) carrier. For our 2022 F60, MINI is using GRIMALDI DEEP SEA https://www.grimaldi.napoli.it/en/inarme.html .

IF your F60 is being shipped via GRIMALDI, tracking your MC is very straight forward:
1) Call your Mini Dealer and ask for the transit information. They should be able to email you a screenshot of their tracking information. That information should have the both the shipping company (in this case GRIMALDI DEEP SEA), the vessel (in my case the Atlantic Sail), and a Bill of Lading # once it finishes the production process which is trackable through the Mini Owners Lounge / Explore My Mini Garage page on MiniUSA.com )

2) Enter that information into the Grimaldi tracking site at the following link : https://www.net.grimaldi.co.uk/GNET4...WFRoroTracking
You will see something similar to the screenshot below. Make sure you choose Tracking by RoRo from the drop down menu. Enter your Bill of Lading number along with the last six digits of your VIN (obtained from your dealer).

3) Tracking your F60 across the Atlantic is fun using https://www.marinetraffic.com. Simply enter your vessel name and your vehicle will be tracking in live time (plus or few minutes of delay) across the Atlantic. For example, here is a screenshot of the vessel our F60 is on from yesterday (April 20, 2021).

NOTE: Current location of Atlantic Sail : https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais...806219/zoom:14

4) Unlike @Midnight Blue 's destination port of New York, our F60 is apparently sailing on to the Port of Baltimore (after it unloaded in New York) where it will be offloaded for transport to Ohio. All of this information will be on the tracking information provided by your dealer. The Atlantic Sail for example is due to arrive at the Port of Baltimore on April 27th. Truly amazing technology on tracking all the shipping vessels, oil tankers, tug boats, fishing boats, etc. at www.MarineTraffic.com .

5) Finally, excellent photos of the cargo vessel that your F60 will be crossing the Atlantic on at MarineTraffic.com. Attached is a photo of the Atlantic Sail. Amazing to imagine the whole process of first designing your vehicle on MiniUSA. com , then following it through the manufacturing process, and finally watching cross the Atlantic ocean on a specific vessel. MINI is truly an amazing one of a kind vehicle that allows complete personalization and tracking from start to finish. No other car manufacture can come close IMHO.

Remember....... "Life is too short to be driving a boring car so drive a MINI" ;-)

Correct tracking for our vehicle entered above. Originally believed it may be on a different carrier.

Thank you @minor1000 ! My final color choice after visiting our Mini dealer was Sage Green metallic. I was so very close to choosing the White Silver however. I will post several photos of the car when it actually arrives here which according to Mini tracking should not be long.

If you think they're rare, take a trip to Europe. It feels like 1 in 4 cars are an F60 out here. They are VERY popular here.

I love 'em! Welcome to the fam!

I actually would love to take a trip to Europe! Half of my genes are from England and the other half are from Germany which is why I probably like the Mini brand so much ;-) Many people here in the U.S. are now in love with their large SUV's and pick-up trucks because of low gas prices. ($2.50 to $2.75 U.S. per U.S. gallon). BMW also seems to restrict the number of Mini dealerships in each state. Ohio for example only has 3 Mini dealerships.

Thanks for your input! Much appreciated!

All of the builds on the the MinUSA website are now 2022 models to my knowledge. https://www.miniusa.com/tools/learni...els-build.html . I'm not sure what the SJ mini dealer web site is? Is that a dealer in you area? FWIW, my 2022 F60 was the first 2022 allocation for my dealership which.
