I’m considering a little lowering, and came across these adjustable springs from MSS. They work with OEM shocks and struts so you don’t need to mess with turning off your EDC.
Has anyone tried these? What results did you get? Would you recommend?
Update. I read that there was some issue with these not lowering as much as stated, but that they were good quality springs. As they are almost as much as coilovers, I decided to go with the Eibach springs for the short term and then probably KW coilovers next year.
What I’ve read says H&R springs lower a bit more than the Eibach set, but that the ride is a bit stiffer. I’m already adding the NM rear sway bar (thanks @KindaCoolDad), so I’m taking a more cautious approach to a daily driver that other people ride in.
A note on the Eibach springs, the part number is E10-20-034-01-22.
Lots of people with Audi TTs with magride (adaptive) suspension have gone with MSS springs and for exactly the reasons you mentioned. Unlike other springs which don't pair very well with the adaptive suspension (think jittery, and too low) these seem to work. I believe they are made by Eibach, btw. Yep, made by eibach for them and MSS make the pirch, Eibach has cut back the MINI catalog lately and focused on Domestics for their normal line. Now they just have springs, lots of the coilovers and springs are now nla. E10-20-034-01-22 is nla and lucky you got one of them in stock.
H&R has good coverage and so does AST suspension (MINI owner runs its) if you are looking for options.
@cuppajoe I have not seen many people with the Eibach springs, everyone seems to get the H&R. Not looking to slam mine or go super stiff (I already have a R53 for that), but do want to lose some of the excess fender gap. The H&R guys look to be really low, this appears to be about right.
- How do they ride vs. stock?
- Did they settle a bit more than that pic?
- No control arms are needed for the Eibachs, right? Just an alignment?

The Eibach springs lower about 24mm or about an inch. They do stiffen up the ride a little, but I put in a rear sway bar at the same time so it's hard to tell how much comes from the springs. I like the result, personally. I didn't need to change any control arms along with the springs... just an alignment. Overall, it's not "stance boy" low by any stretch of the imagination, but just noticeably lower than stock. The trick for the Eibach springs is that I believe they are end of line(?), so you might have a hard time finding them. Good luck!
Gotcha. I see some reports of way more than that with other brands, so I am glad they aren't quite so low. But I wonder if I would even notice or have the same results. I just don't want to lose all snow ability. It does look like they settled a bit more in your additional pics, but that may be the wheel/tire change & lighting.
I wish the spring rates for everything was available for OEM & the different brands to compare. Only found the Eibach numbers. A bit frustrating. I am hoping/guessing these are slightly softer than H&R, given the ride height doesn't drop as much, but H&R is also progressive vs. these being single rate.
Very glad to hear no control arms are needed. H&R apparently does require them, so that tells me they are either way lower, or Eibach barely stays within OEM range. Not sure I even want to do a sway bar, either... but that shouldn't affect ride stiffness, only roll.
Availability seems to be ok, as when I search for the p/n you gave above, I get "in stock" results still. Some sites make it sound like you can't put them on an All4, but obviously you did.

I would assume that yours being a JCW would not make a difference & it should just be a dampening rate change, but you never know with this stuff. I do see the ride height changes differently between models, though. Guess I will find out soon-ish.
