best / favorite current ECU tune?
Hey everyone.
I just bought a 2018 F60 S, and am trying to see what everyones experience is with tunes. I have searched & read a bunch here & elsewhere, and see a lot about the Dinan Elite, but also that it's out of date. On their page, I really like the numbers from their newer offerings, but can't really be without the car while they program the DME.
What other options has the community "settled" on as best at this point, that is just remotely installed or plugged in?
Thanks!
~Matt

Get in touch with @Lou@Prototype-R He can work with you to determine upgrade path and options.
Still trying to learn what all is out there now. A little surprised how few option the F60 has for everything.

I went from a 2019 JCW to a 2020 JCW. That "tune" added more than 75 HP while providing upgraded cooling (an additional auxiliary cooler on the passenger side) and internal parts, not to mention an upgraded transmission. I'm not one one tinker with non-OEM tunes much, fearing reliability will be adversely affected.

I’ve a 2016 F56 JCW that had a Dinan Elite box and traded it in to get the Dinan Stage 1 tune. As mentioned above, was something like 3 days from when it left my hands until back in the car. Dinan is great, talk to them and they will work with you for quick turnaround. The DME itself is pretty easy to take out and put back. The result is quite nice…and my 2016 already has the auxiliary cooler they took out for some reason on later models…
I went Dinan because I didn’t really need a monster tune (slippery slope of upgrades) - and they were very conservative with great drivability on this. Their test mule was being beat on for over a year with this tune before it went into general release…only trick is to make sure octane is at least 93. Will run on lesser octane but long term beats up the engine…

Thanks for the info. Seems to fall in line with everything else I am reading. It just sounds like a more comprehensive package.
I think I am settling on the Dinan Stage 1, for exactly the same reasons as you did. Coming from my much-modded R53 (and even a 252hp Focus ST), I gotta get the F60 above that power/weight ratio. lol
I am gonna at least do some research now on the extra cooler, though. Probably have no need for it, but if it's an "easy" retrofit, then maybe I will add it to the list.

Just my 2 cents, I ran JB4 for a year and a half and it was pretty decent but a few weeks ago I switched to Bootmod3 and it's been a blast. I started out with stage 2 93 but now I am on a custom e70 setup and I switch between both e70 and 93 depending on availability. Right now I have intake, intercooler, charge / boost pipes, high flow dp, b58tu hpfp for mods.
My car is a 2018 CM S All4.

As stated earlier - Put A Protective Grille in front if it!
I had a rock kicked up and punched the aux cooler, lost coolant, overheated, stranded by the highway. At the very least, stuff a bit of screening in front of it. There are write-ups (I wrote one) on how to pull the aux cooler out and snap on the OE grille. Takes all of an hour and saves you hours of waiting on the roadside for the tow truck. Such a problem that new Mini's come with it as standard. This isn't an 'if' it happens, but 'when' it happens to you.
