Looking for CANBUS messages for Interior Lighting and A/C
Looking to send CANBUS messages from a device to to my countryman that would change the color of the interior lighting or turn on disco mode and want to set the driver and passenger A/C temp and fan speed. Anyone point me in the right direction?

Looks like a fun project, but the price of the toosl appears to be 6-800 dollars, so not cheap.
I refer to the reverse engineering implied, not the other half of the problem, which is generating the appropriate frames when desired and placing them on the bus.
Cheers,
Charlie

Thanks! I think I got the reverse engineering piece down just haven't constructed CANBUS frames before. Using Arduino and an old CANBUS adapter from an open source project. Didn't know if anyone has experience with CANBUS frame sand the PID's I'd need.
I actually already have the hardware/software mocked already, looking to see if a few things are possible: one controlling those things from other devices and two extending the lighting to other areas via after market solutions, for example a extension for lighting of my subs in the trunk compartment.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Otherwise when I get it done I'll share what I can.

looks like when I SavvyCan the CANBUS, I only see 0x130 ID.
Found somewhere that said that BMW routes CANBUS through the A/C module via LIN and breaks back out to CANBUS for the F60, not sure what’s the right approach to get access to LIN and read messages and can that be done through OBD2 port.
