I just ordered one. I travel 400 miles away from home for work sometimes. I was contemplating what would happen if a run flat had a catastrophic blow out. My fears were confirmed talking to a friend this past week that owns a beemer who was stranded on the motorway waiting for BMW service. His tire got a golf ball size hole in it and was not drivable. He said this was the 3rd flat in 3 years with run flats. One of the times he was able to drive on it and the other two, BMW service had to come get him as the hole was much too large to drive on, tire would shred too soon and damage the rim.
P.S. No this will NOT fit under the floor. I am not sure if that is ever even possible as the clearance width is about only 20" under there. I will just lay it flat on the floor in the boot and it looks like I may have to scoot one seat up 2" as well. I will take pictures when it arrives. Now I have to find a reasonably priced bag/cover for it.

I'm in the same boat. I bought a 17" rim and full size tire with my snow tires. It will feet deep in the well vertically and a ratchet strap across the tire horizontally. TireRack has a nice tire cover...they are adjustable. Cost is approx two for $20.
