Finally broke down... (and ordered a JCW)

So I finally took the leap - I was considering this for months, but I just decided to get off my butt and do something about it. Went over on Friday to the dealer and walked out with my order sheet in-hand.

OPTIONS POSTED IN POST #33
BROCHURE POSTED IN POST #34

Here she is (mocked up with the options and mods):

Changed the order in late-December due to the delay - decided on a different color scheme!

Absolutely - I plan to post all kinds of stuff (underside shots, etc) as the official stuff has been pretty nebulous (and confusing since it's different in the UK).

Rest assured it will begin being modded the day I pick it up.

I wonder if the upcoming DoS CAI will fit in the JCW?!?!

It absolutely will, as they did not change the engine bay or rear panel.

The air intake inlet should be the same, but that can be fixed if it's an issue.

What kind of timeline did they quote you? My MA was telling me like April when I inquired about ordering a jcw.

Week 48 build slot (same as another member ordering at the same time as me) - 1st week of the 2013 model year production. Delivery estimate in mid-January.

Theta, where's the "vultures line-up here" sign for your current mods? :-p

I've literally had like 6 different PMs about that!

The truth is, it's all getting moved over with the exception of my current exhaust (which is up for trade at the moment) and the driving lights and mounts. Everything else is moving to its new home in January.

I will be replacing the factory JCW exhaust with my new straight-pipe exhaust, but will keep the JCW for resale purposes.

Perhaps I should start adding multicolored, bold gee gaws announcing what flavor of chewing gum is currently in my cupholder...

Well, I have to say that I've never received a complaint in all this time - I'm sorry it bothers you so much!

As for your gum comment, your choice of gum didn't cost $15,000 - all of those mods did... People want to know what you're running when you deal with modification questions. The multicolor is actually there to differentiate words instead of having a wall of text. The people I help generally contact me after seeing what I'm running in my sig, and we go from there. I'm glad you took the time to list other cars you own - on a Mini forum, nobody cares too much about your S2000. Do you see me putting my other cars on here? No. If I did, and listed all of their mods, then you might have a valid point to make. But you win.

I think this was the wrong way to deal with this - if you had a suggestion, you could have simply sent a polite PM. Your two posts honestly just make me want to tell you to p!ss off. And that's coming from one of (there are actually a lot of us) the most helpful and generous R60 guys on here.

Edit: After looking through your threads, I'm honestly not surprised now... If you want to pick a fight with our members in so many threads, take it somewhere else. Constructive criticism is one thing. Being obnoxious because you feel like it's an anonymous outlet for you is quite another.

Edit 2: Fixed sig - gutted mod list. Hope you approve - take care!

Back to the thread, guys!

Theta, I really hope you didn't change your sig just because of that clown.

I did indeed thin it out a bit, but I appreciate the sentiment.

Theta,

Thank you for your post and I enjoy your signature line. From seeing what you have done to your R60 gives me incentive to try some of those mods on my own. Also the thread you started on your custom exhaust and posts to a sub woofer upgrade have helped me with my own. (Still working on the subs)

Royson G,
Theta started this thread and if you do not like his signature block then don't view his threads/posts! If you want to fill your signature with cars that nobody cares about that's your choice. I'm not big into internet forums but for somone who has been on here less than a year to call out a proven member that helps others just shows what an A$$ you are.

Sorry all, had to chime in on this one.

Theta, thank you! You are an inspiration to all, or at least me. I enjoy reading this entire forum because it is very helpful, informative and quit frankly idea inspiring.

Now, that being said, there is a lot of info here I don't care about; and for that, I just don't read it. I was just reading in another thread how nice and helpful people are on this forum and I had to agree. I have been here for some time, but just got my first, and not at all my last,Mini. For me to read the very next post and see what I saw, I was ashamed. I thought, how could he? He must be joking. Nope. not joking. There is NO need to act like that. There are enough nasty, self absorbed people in the world. No need to let them in here. If there is a moderator, may I vote for that persons removal. It would seem this is not his first, and I'm sure, not his last nasty antagonistic post. There is just no need for it.

Sorry all, off my soap box.

Happy Thanksgiving to all and thanks to all that are supportive and helpful.

Capt.

Apology accepted.

Maybe if I made an image of all the mod brands I have, then listed all the mods in various colors, then gave my car a cutesy name, then constantly referred to my car by that name, then put on a few grille badges...people would care. Do you think?

Thanks for modifying your sig. Now, if I could only get everyone else to stop naming their cars...at least you didn't do that!

Clown?!?! Hey, at least I didn't spend $15,000 modifying a MINI.

Holy crap, what is wrong with this guy? I'd reply, but as they say - It's best not to feed the trolls. I'll leave it in the hands of the moderator.

Also, I had a GTO Judge, a 2004 GTO, and a 2006 GTO - I have a real soft spot for those.
