Well, just found out that I'm a week 33 production. To finish on August 13th...

Thought I would get the ball rolling with the August thread.

Katie will be a Liquid Yellow/Black MC. Premium package, cold package, Xenon lights, Sport Seats, Black & Gray cloth interior... she'll be sharing garage space with a Ford Ranger, replacing what I call a 'mother car', my current Lumina.

Can't wait!!! I'm guessing some of the folks from the July thread will be moving over here with me. I hope so, I need some company!

 

I might as well chime in on this thread..... no news yet but most probably will be an Aug. build.....

Anybody know what the going wait time is before you get an official production week? I ordered mine this past weekend and the sales guy said it was week 35, but he said that it might get moved. Any ideas?

From past experience, I would definitely call 866-ASK-MINI and talk to a real person. They will have the most up to date information.

If I had to guess from the status of mine, I would think maybe you won't get an update for a few more days still. ... it never hurts to call

I find it strange that some people got a production week from their motoring advisor on the day they order. Is it just that my MA wasn't forthcoming or do not all of them have that data?

Thanks for the heads up 2005LY! I'll give them a call in a day or so. FYI, when the sales guy was ordering the Mini he had a sheet in front of him with the production weeks and numbers. He would key one in and see if it was taken or not. It took him 3 numbers before he found one that took and he said that it was in week 35. Oh well, it doesn't really matter I was just curious because this waiting is going to kill me! I want my MINI! Ok I'm calm now.

 

I'm hoping I am a August build. My motoring advisor told me mid September delivery. I still show as a Pepper White on the Mini Tracking site...I was told it takes a few days to get updated. Oh...It's going to be a long summer.

 

BoilerUp! call up 866-ASK-MINI and you'll get more updated information. I showed up as a CR/W for a few days. I was starting to get nervous and then they updated it.

I know we have at least 2 midwesterners and 1 from cali, any other locations? That would be great if some of us were neighbors (meaning within a few hundred miles, of course!)

Knowing the color choices I went through, I'm curious to see why everyone else chose their color. For instance, my first love was the Silk Green, then when it got discontinued, I thought I liked the Pepper White. Then it dawned on my that I've had a white car for about 8 years now, my MINI needed more pizazz! Finally - Liquid Yellow.

As for the colour, I chose BRG/W as a tribute a friend's 1969 Mini Cooper that I got to drive quite often. The sad thing is Nigel is no longer.

 

ask mini told me it was scheduled to go into production in the next couple days, but then later in the call said it was probably a week 32 build with week 33 confirmation. not sure what that means.... i thought week 32 was sometime in august, the next couple days is sometime in july.

In response to 2005LY - I chose pepper white since I haven't seen that many PW MCS here in So. Cal. My current 2003 MC (which by the way is for sale) is pure silver on black... I love the color combo and would have chosen the same thing for my MCS but my wife has a silver car already.... needless to say gets some looks when our garage is open..... I can't wait....

Just got off the phone with Mini and the lady told me that I'm tentatively scheduled for week 34 which is August 16th.:smile: Yeah! She also said that it would probably move up another week and to check back with them in about 2 weeks. This is good news because I was thinking I wouldn't get the Mini until October. I've really got to get back to work because this Mini stuff is driving me nuts! Hey 2005LY here are my changes to your list:

No, she didn't give any real reason she just said that it was tentatively scheduled for week 34 and if all goes well it might get moved up. I wish now I would have asked her for more info, but I'll call back at the end of next week and see what's changed if anything.

 

Figured I would make myself jealous and join the August thread since I went on order on 7/19. Does the wait for the mini actually make the experience better or is it just pure torture .

i just got my production number of 748XXXX yesterday. i spoke with ask-mini today and they told me that my order is approved and is set for a week 37 (or end of august) run.

and so it goes...

thanks for all the comments... yes, I am very excited indeed.. imagine checking daily (just a bit obsessive...) and always getting the same thing... and now, I'm told, it's being "born"..... hmmm, I wonder if it's the stage of conception right now? in any case, now it's a little bit of panic time to sell my 2003 PS/B MC.... have to make room in the garage to fit "Casper"......
