Stuttering below 2K RPMs under acceleration
Hey guys. Ive got an 04 Non-S with the manual trans and 108K on the clock. Im having an issue with stuttering under acceleration below 2K rpms. This occurs in most gears but i can prevent it by babying the throttle until i reach 2k or keep my shift points around 2k rpms. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Got it. Sounds like we have two different issues.
Mine feels like it the throttle control forgets for a second what its job is and suddenly snaps to. Yours reminds me of the days of driving old carburetored cars with fuel supply or choke issues.
Hopefully someone will be along who can can help you. Good luck!

Here I just posted this to another thread.
"Heads up on the fuel filter, I just replaced mine (and yeah it looked terrible) but try not to mess up the fuel sending unit. Once I replaced the fuel filter, I must of broken the fuel sending unit that the fuel filter is attached to because it was not "sending" gas up to the engine. Also be careful dealing with the fuel, the stuff is nasty!"
If you have never changed the fuel filter it's a great idea. It will look very dirty and the fuel inside of the filter will be dirty too.

Good news! after installing a new set of ignition wires, the problem has gone away!
The old wires were getting so bad that I could barely accelerate without it stuttering and misfiring. Now it's like new.
Old wires were dried out and the insulation was bad, so it was arcing from the wires under heavy load, so it would cause misfires.
So change your wires!

If the wires are that bad....
You might want to do some basic MX that has likely been overlooked....
Sparkplugs...
Coolant flush ( most often forgotten item on a mini IMO)..
Brake fluid flush....
Any of the above might cost you big $$ if skipped too long!!
