Who wants a Carbon Fiber Splitter?

By my definition, bling is both useless and expensive. If you want to spend hundreds of dollars on something that is just for looks, go for it. It's your money.
You asked, I gave. End of discussion.
I want to find out from you if there is interest in them.

if you were interested in strictly HP and performance you wouldnt be driving a MINI....end of discussion

Great spliter. If you're carefull, you won't have problems. There is no spliter that you can use any differently, if your car is lowered - they all hit.
There are plenty of bad roads here, pot holes, low storm drains, steep driveway cuts and the like & this splitter has survived them all.
And a really good price.....
I should add they are functional bling.

How so? The definition of benefit:
And the definition of advantage (for the definition above)
The ends of the mod is aesthetics as we discussed. Seems to me that making your car look better (if you like how the splitter looks) would be both advantageous and good. It's a benefit.

Here is mine

I love mine. I can't stress enough to make sure it is very secure. Initally I had an issue with the screws coming loose. Now I used screw's and nuts to make sure it would not come loose. I will admit you have to be careful when approaching large dips, speed bumps and steep driveways. Other than that I think it makes the car look much meaner from the front.

LOL thanks Rally!
Either way I see it the feedback is 99% posative but I'm still not sure I will carry them. I can get them though if someone would like one.
ooh Mike, thanks for the pics!

Does anybody have a frontal shot, of the spliiter mounted, from a low angle? I would like to see how low it is compared to that plastic piece that scrapes under the front bumper. Thanks.
#38
I can take one later for you
The plastic piece is only about 1/2 to 1/4 inch lower than the lip. So if you hear it start scraping its time to back off or slow down. My spoiler is all scratched up underneith but I can't see it nor do I care. It still looks good from the top and front.

Yaaaay, they've been having a great response. I was a bit worried at first but now the list is growing of pre-orders! I love it when I can find things people want that you can't always get just anywhere!

The splitter is higher. That piece hits first, trust me on this 1. I have had this splitter on for quite a while.

Well I've gotten a good response, so it looks like there will be some new proud owners of these splitters soon.
A few updates;
1. I am finding out shipping charges to inside the US, Hawaii and Canada (hopefully I will know more soon for those that asked)
2. I have been told that these will only fit on the Cooper S non aersokit bumper (Sorry Coopers, I'm in the same boat)

I'd be interested, SG, with some questions:
1. How does it attach to the Cooper S OEM bumper? Is drilling required?
2. Any reports on durability over time? I know the M7 splitters are reported to last for years so long as you don't scrape 'em off on a speed bump or midnight armidillo.
3. Out of the box, they're CF and don't rerquire painting, correct?
4. Can these be used with the mounting supports like the M7 has? I sort of like the more agressive metal post look personally, but the little upturned "wings" on the outer ends of this are KILLER IMHO.
5. In this photo, it looks like there's a warp in the splitter (just to the driver's side of center) - is this an optical illusion from the photo? In some other photos the splitter looks a bit less than 100% straight as well... if this is actually a warp/bend, how did it get there? Impact? Manufacturing imperfection?
Let me know!

1. Yes I do beleive you would need to drill some holes underneath
2. I have been told numerous times the quality on these is good and have had no negative feedback about how they hold up over time. Some people have had them for years and they're fine
3. CORRECTomungo!
4. Hmmmm good quaestion. I don't really know. I beleive there is a hollow center on these so it's possible it would just be a matter of figuring out how to attach it.
5. another hmmmm from me. I think I see what you're talking about but what I see is on both sides so it may be the angle the photo was taken at and you're just seeing the front curve.
I hope this helps!

Yes, thanks, it does. So is this a thing you've decided to do for sure, or as a limited-time or one-time thing via a group buy or what?
PS - I think I see what that "bend" is - it looks like the leading edge is not a smooth curve, but rather has a little inwards "dip" about a third of the way across the leading edge on each side. I think the variation is that little in-curving part, and it's visible because the camers wasn't 100% straight.

I don't think I'll stock them regularly as they are a bit much for me to do at the moment but we'll see, that could change, I have a growing list of orders so it's highly possible.
I don't have a time limit set right now but I would like all orders placed by Dec. 1st so I can have everything strait and get them out to everyone ASAP!
