2010 Hi-Fi or HK? Depends.
Don't know how accurate this is...but received word through a thread on the mini owner's lounge that....
2010's initial production run in late Sept will not have the HK sound system due to a problem in parts shipped to the factory not being the right ones.
Parts for HK system not expected to the factory till Dec for future delivery dates to the States.
Like I said, I don't know if it's true...but it sure won't make me happy if it is.

Here's the latest. My car is held up in production till I tell the dealer to remove the HK radio code.
Only way to upgrade the factory base radio to the 09 version of Hi-Fi is at the dealer with $1300 in parts and who knows how much labor. Obviously not an option.
So...what to do, what to do. If I wait till Mid Dec for the HK I won't have the car till the end of Jan. 2010.
I ordered the car 7/25...that's way too long.

Hi Fi is not available in 2010.
HK is the new upgraged better 10 spkr stereo $750 option on it's own.
$250 more than last years HiFi.
But the MFSW is now standard....so that makes it a wash.
The $1300 was to take my 2010 cooper with the base radio and use parts at the dealership to upgrade it to the 2009 HiFi. Labor not included of course.
Nice color MCS by the way, BigNewt.
