Ballpark base MINI cost

Base models are rare.
I recently was looking for a base MC in the Philadelphia area. My dealer looked at the inventories of dealerships all around the north east. The cheapest he could find me was about $3,000 over base.
It was always small additions, like $500 for the color, or certain packages. Up here it was imposible to find anything without the cold weather package. I'm assuming in Canada you'll run into the same problem.
I ended up buying mine from Florida and shipping it (my family lives there so they handled everything and I just signed papers up here). Even with the $450 for shipping I saved a lot.
If you have the time to wait for a custom one, just make it online.

The absolute base model of a MINI would be the MINI Cooper with Classic package.
That would be the mininum Canadian spec configuration. No Xenon headlights, no heated seats, no sunroof etc. I believe it totals to around $24K CDN.
With the strength of the CDN$ against the Euro, it might be lower for 2011. But last time I believe they kept the price the same but added more "standard" equipment.
