Steve - realized i wont be able to drive manual for at least a year, until i can get back surgery done and recovered, and i figured bumblebee needed to be driven. it made a great x-mas present for someone though im sure.
Mellocooper - yea, i tend to drive very fast too :-) but i remember seeing you. im just used to no one waving, so i dont even expect it anymore :-(
I was driving from WV to Mundelein to drop off my older brother after our road trip to visit mom for the holidays and, while in Mundelein, I was turning north onto Butterfield from 60 and I honked at a red (I think red) 2011+ Cooper S stopped at a light who then caught up to me, honked and waived and zoomed away. I wonder if he/she is on here.
Spotted a White MINI tonight at about 10:15ish travelling south on 294, he caught up to me and returned my wave :-) I was in my blue Coupe S.
I SAW YOU!! (and the white MINI...) Unfortunately, I was driving the BIG yellow truck with the trailer... I had a 67 Pontiac Lemans on the trailer... And there was NO WAY i was going to catch you.. or the white one!! I would have been driving MY mini... Damn brother's cars.. .why do they always break down when I want to have fun?!!
I saw a nice looking black MCS with carbon fiber looking (or flat black) stripes and backed out rear lights on I-55 going south. I was going relatively slow until you blew past me and I had to catch up and drive at your pace! I enjoyed the nice spirited caravan! Great looking car!
They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery... but, come on! They just bought a 2012 and park half a block away from my house usually. It's the same body/roof colors and stripe design/color. So I park next to them... yes, that will show 'em!
Low quality picture because I can only sneak up on the other car at night with my iPhone... it scampers away during the day! I want to set up a play date with the other car.
Yesterday, saw an all black Countryman S with red racing stripe and roof rack heading west on 88. Followed him for a while once we both got off at Rt. 59.
My guess would be the obvious... you're parked closer.. but also the bonnet end of the R56 is biggg, the boot end.. smaller in comparison I think. R53 FTW!!

I am having trouble figuring this one out even considering the perspective angle! They look too out of proportion to each other! When I parked my R53 next to an R56 at a Mini dealer, that is when I could see the size difference in the cars.
I live in Geneva so I drive throughout Kane County. But you'll find me mainly on Randall rd, Kirk, rt. 38, rt.31 and rt. 64 among others. I drive an '09 Lightning Blue Clubman w/ a JCW grill and black sport stripes, so if you see me be sure to wave! I try my best to wave at all the other Mini's I see!
