Chicagoland MINI spottings!

Saw a PS/Checker MC this morning make a U-Turn on Ogden @ Racine, then get onto the Kennedy and exited at North Avenue. Nice checker stripe on the boot (couldn't ever get in front of her to see the bonnet though!), and also a very dark tint job on the rear windows. You people need to join the club (and do the brake light mod)!!!

The man who has the indi blue with white stars had that done here at Bill Jacobs MINI by the person who does our decals. I see his car all the time out in Oakbrook mall.
We had dressed a MINI like that last Christmas for a couple of parades. We meant to take them off after the holidays but his wife thought it would be perfect for him. So she bought it as is for him. He loves the attention

I was in Chicago for about a week (at the Rosemont) and although I didn't get out that much I did take the Blue line into downtown and a CTA bus both ways to museums for two days with my son trying to spot ANY MINIs but we saw NONE!
That is the first time that happened in any major city. We were on the lookout at all times because my son and I usually like to see who can spot one first or who can spot the most.
Anyone care to tell me how is it that in such a large metropolitan area as Chicago we could manage to spot zero MINIs.
We left for downtown roughly 9am and got to the museums about 80 minutes later then left to return about 4-5pm.
Traffic was flowing, visibility was reasonably good. I saw a few imports of various types and one new beetle.

Funny, I was wearing my "stealth glasses" that penetrate most known cloaking devices and still no dice.
Plus my son has terrific vision and had no luck as well.
Are you sure you don't all just garage your MINIs and bring them out on weekends. The snow wasn't bad so the visibility was good.
I'll have to return in the summer and get a better chance to look.
I did see one yellow H2.

This is the first time I post--I am picking up my MINI Cooper S on Monday at Knauz. Anyway, I was driving east on North Ave. all the way from I-294 to just past 1st Ave. following a BRG MINI Cooper. It was completely covered in dirt and salt. I think he noticed I was following him because whenever he made lane changes, I did too, right beside him. A couple times I thought he was going to pull a cell phone out and call the police because of a stalker .

I just spent the weekend on Chicago Highways. I was ALL OVER. 90,94,294,355,280,80 and LSD burned up an entire tank in just 2 days! And I only saw like ONE MINI! an EB/W that was in Gurnee. I'd have to say it's almost difficult to spot MINI's in the city as well.
Just so you dont get too scared, I have turned the MINI into a "nights and weekends" car to keep the milage down. I'm currently at 18k since Nov 2002. The 92 Ford Tarus is the "work" car.

THAT WAS ME!!!! Hello there! I'm glad you like it. My husband just pointed this message out, and I had to register and respond. I said to him, "are you sure it was our MINI she saw?", and he said "who the hell else has a fish on their car??"
He had a point.
Anyways, thanks for linking our little design. PFM Logistics did the actual design of the fishie and the execution of it. They were most professional, in case you're interested.
