gem, cab... yeah, Mugen in particular. Lucy's a senior, so I have to keep an eye on her health and make sure that she's getting her supplements and all that jazz... but Mugen... he's a puppy and a piece of work. LOL!

Took them both into the vet yesterday and Mugen was all over the place. I thought his butt was never going to stop wiggling. Mugen weighed 67 pounds at the vet. He starts dog school again tonight. Thank GOD! After dog school... Mugen will sleep for a good two hours so I can actually get some stuff done around here.

Welcome back RJ! You sound like you're a rock star ~ I'm with Cab, cudos to SiL for getting you moving. Tell her I have some whips if she needs to borrow them (giggle). I've got something to send you, but keep missing the post office (hours are bizarre... rural life dontcha know).

Uh, Gemmy, now I thought you were into the toothless hunk... but now we're finding out it's Cabby??? And what's this about sucking on mini mints?! Young ladies, this is a family oriented forum. (giggle)... I'm SHOCKED! SHOCKED I say! (giggle)

Ok- carry on... there's nothing to see here folks!

RJ, You da bomb! But I think we need to come up with a symbol for your husband (a la PRINCE)... instead of having to write "The man formerly known as Superman" ... (giggle) For example he could be $... which serves a dual purpose as it crosses the S for superman out, and reminds us what men are REALLY for (tee hee hee)... Then again, if he's mothering you too much and you want to scream at the top of your lungs, he might be #, for "expletives deleted"....
I'm really glad you feel so much better. Keep up the great work oh Superwoman (I bow in your general direction)

Very Cute Gemmy, maybe a bit Mean too, but you only did it out of Love and not spite...which is where I might be right now if Hubby and I were on the opposite ends of my Surgery...If that makes any sense.

Anyway Kids...I'm going to hit the Hay, I only had one nap Today!!

RJ - get some sleep.
Hubby knows it was love, but you would have to know me, I'm not a good nurse.

Night all, only one more week of tax season

Gemmy, the word of excercise makes me hurt in places that (I already hurt at) but didn't even know I had. Ok, so you could have come over and taken away my Taco Bell Lunch, that's what Hubby wanted today!! I've not been eating much, and weighing myself, I have lost about 10lbs. Total, but I know that's going to be creeping up on me, next week is supposed to be nice maybe I can take a walk outside. With my Walker I think, I can at least set that goal for myself.

I've been doing alright, aside from battling vertigo/motion sickness and having to be drugged up as a result.

It's still cold and feeling like winter out here, though the weather has been nice for the most part. Can't wait for warmer weather so I can tackle some of my projects!

How are you doing RJ?

More Important AK is...what's caused this Vertigo/Motion Sickness feeling?? Have you been to see an ENT?? Are you taking a Daily Allergy Pill like Zyrtec?? What has the Dr. Prescribed?? Not Meclazine I hope?? You do know why I'm asking all these might seem silly questions, right?? I have Meniere's Disease and it causes those symptons when I have to much Sodium Intake, thankfully my $ has been cooking Low Salt for quite awhile now and I've been doing really well. I am prescribed Triamterene HCTZ (a Diuretic, and BP Pill), and I take the Zyrtec Daily along with that. But again, this isn't about Me...what's going on with you, when did these symptons start??

I'll get off my SoapBox so I don't end up writing a book, but please take care of yourself and if you feel like it PM me!!

Still haven't been to an ENT (Vivi also suggested that I should), but that would require a trip off-island. No to allergy pills...and yes to Meclizine (I hate it - it makes me dopey).

I noticed that I was suffering from motion sickness on my way to Costa Rica last month. I normally don't get airsick (seasick - yes) but despite how smooth my flights were - I still got nauseated. Something else I noticed - it seems that over the past 5 years or so I've been getting more prone to suffering from motion sickness.

And most recently - this past weekend, I woke up with a headache. Didn't think much of it until the world started spinning uncontrollably. I spent a good portion of my day in the bathroom with my eyes closed, hugging the toilet. My stomach finally settled and I took Meclizine. Fell asleep for a few hours and woke up with mild dizziness - but was ok to go about and do my own thing.

And ever since I got back from Costa Rica - it seems that if I move around too fast (like rotating my desk chair from my normal desk to the workstation behind me), I can get dizzy. Meclizine seems to lessen this somewhat, but it definitely hasn't fixed it.

I'm thinking a trip out of town for a 2nd opinion might be necessary. This isn't fun - as I'm sure you already know.

Thanks for posting your experiences RJ. If any of you have any other ideas, I'm open for suggestions!

AK,

My mom suffered from dizzy spells like that in her later years. Doctors told her it had something to do with thickening of the fluid within the semi-circular canals in the inner ear. Seemed to be worse during the winter than any other time of year.

Hope you get to feeling better.

IF it is a fluid accumulation some good old Sudafed might help drain it? There are several things that can cause vertigo so I def. would think a visit to the ENT is in order, but since it started during a flight I would take a guess at a baro trauma and treat is with decongestants... we fight that alot when diving ( which puts pressure on the ears just as flying does) and it usually clears it up. Good luck AKIndy! Keep us posted!!

Howdy Freebs! Congrats RJ on your 3 week post op! I would dare say you're probably not doing the Snoopy Dance just yet, so I'll do it for you (ok, Nose in the air, wind those legs up and DANCE!)
Big D, I've also mentioned allergies. I know you hate going off Island, but honestly I'd make the appointment and go. Suffering thru this isn't the way you want to live your life. You're way too active to be held back by dizziness.
So another big earthquake... I dunno, I'm wondering if Mother Nature is trying to tell us something. I know she doesn't like Parkay (anyone remember the commercials where she gets mad and says "It's not nice to fool Mother Nature")...And then I think I saw that 800 people were evacuated on Iceland due to a volcano erupting? I know volcanoes erupt there a lot, but seriously...
OK, gotta run, it's kids/school time and then my farrier is coming to trim the feet on 9 horses. Basically they're all getting pedicures today! Lucky brats
Over and out!

halac, cabwy, gem, and tn - thanks for your suggestions. I'm definitely going to mention those to my doctor on monday during my follow-up visit. And yes - I'm quite tired of having my activities being limited by this...so I'm going to look into seeing a specialist off-island.

Hope you all have a good thursday!
