Ooohh,, gasmini,,, that is exactly what I am pining for!! Can you "educate" me a bit? What year? Back then were they all standard shift? How much money do I need to start saving up??? seriously, that is one awesome mini truck!!
It's a 1963 Austin Mini Pickup. I don't think any of them were an automatic but that doesn't mean you couldn't swap it out for an auto tranny. Besides how could you not have a stick shift in a workhorse of a truck like that. I've seen them sell for between $5,000 and $22,000. I paid $$$$ for mine. The pickups usually sell for more than a regular classic because there are not as many of those around. There were made from 1961 to 1982 and I think just over 57,000 of them.

I was thinking of getting the ***** that hang down that I've seen on some other pickups but I would have to get the smaller pair so they wouldn't drag on the ground.

Cabwy - What a great garage mate for Sloopy Go for it!!! Perhaps you should start a reverse "free Mini" thread - Looking for a Free Mini Pickup!
That would happen about as soon as skittles, (dang rented fingers) I mean skillet would get his "FREE" mini.

How long ago was this and is it still there? I'm always looking for spare pickups or parts for it. I will be in Miami next weekend so who knows what I'll find.

Well, yes and no. It depends on who is posting and when. EMRThread is more of a conversation of weird thoughts, but thoughts nonetheless. Everyone's definition of "Weird" and "Random" are pretty subjective.
So how much of this story do you believe? Was there ever a mini? Was there ever a "grandma"?
I've got my suspicion - no. Someone already pointed out she's pulled a parts scam on other people before. Seems like she gets cars and sells of parts and does who knows what with cars. I wonder if the banks end up holding the bag?
Now that is some fancy driving!! That reminds me of a reining competition.
Now remember that I am new to this classic mini stuff, but that had to be a rea wheel drive, right? I guess front wheel drive is a rather new option....

Well, after watching her offer to sell just about everything and anything on the other forums it occerred to me why, all of a sudden would she offer up a classic mini, supposedly mint-- for free?? But gosh I really wanted to believe- initially that she was really as well off as she claims and that she wanted to give it to a good home, I also wonder if she was actually scamming, as someone mentioned earlier for someone to send her money for "shipping"
