Miniranda-

Is your mini Canadian? I'm not familiar with the repeaters in the front fenders (oops, I meant to say wings) or the grille placement of the turn signals.

Yes she is Canadian.

Apprently they had to be imported with a different bumper/lights to meet with Canadian saftey standards. I don't think it will be too hard to move the lights but I just haven't had a chance to do it yet.

Greetings from Oz

Hi,

I am a new member to this site and found you when trawling for mini related stuff. Love to see the pics of classic minis from all over the world, some very nice examples out there.

I have a 77 clubman which has been undergoing extensive modifications over the past 2 years and still going, havent even begun to look at bodywork yet, just mechanical stuff.

Currently runs full heavy duty adjustable suspension including spax coil overs and adj camber, castor etc, 8.4 discs (soon to be 4 pot calipers) and have a 1310 waiting to be completed and fitted.

Best of all, I live in Tasmania, home of one of the best Targa races around the world today (2000km in 6 days with about 50 - 60 competitive stages), lots of tight twisty bits and fast long sweepers.

Here is a pic of my baby.

cheers

Welcome clubman77!

Hey, that's a very, very nice Clubman. And... those Aussie MkI doors/windows are great. Tasmania? Talk about an exotic place to live. I'll bet the Targa action is very interesting.

If you haven't yet, you might check out www.minimania.com, too, and visit their forum. Lots of life-long mini owners there.

I've only got two whole hubcaps and one broken one. LOL And yes they look better than the steelies.

How do you like the coil springs? I was thinking about getting them, especially since they aren't all that much more than replacing 4 cones.

I am about to remove the cones and replace shocks with Spax coil overs on all corners. it would be interesting to compare these with the coil spring set up in yours.

I love the work you are doing on yours too, could you show me a pic of the bonnet pins in location as i need to fit some in mine, just not sure what type to go for yet.

cheers

MCS2nr-

I'd be curious to hear about your before/after impressions with the anti-swaybars. Lookin' good!

To be honest, the front one went on at same time as new shocks all round and adjustable tie rods and control arms so the effect was fantastic but couldnt comment on what it would be like with the new bits minus the front bar.

I can say that the rear sway bar was the best thing i have done. Before it was added, hooking into fast tight corners made one rear corner 'raise' up and had some body roll, once the bar was added, this effect was completely removed making cornering even faster and flatter.

I can highly recommend a rear sway bar to everyone, you wont believe the improvement.

I am waiting for a day off work so i can pull all the shocks out and fit the new spax coil overs and then go for another drive to test them out. Il be sure to add pics of them fitted along with some comments about their effectiveness so keep an eye out for that, should be a week or so before i can do it (winter here and a bit wet and rainy even though the work will be done in the garage its hard to juggle between work and a 7 year old).

will try and send some pics of the hood pins this week, I haven't drove my car since, so I don't even know how she handles with the new sway bars....

What's up Dave! I didn't recognize your screenname. How've you been bro? CF your rims? Which one? Sport or full size. Btw, Dave was the one who got me into classic minis... I owe it all to him
