Ash tray? or...

Most meters and machines wont take pennies.
Its pretty simple to do if not obvious already. I picked up the coin holder on amazon for something like $2. It comes with a bottom section that I removed to fit properly in the mini. Take the ash tray and poke out the two pins on the hinge to free the lid. I made a thong out of some art foam and epoxied it to the channel in the underside of the lid, let it dry, then epoxied the other end to the top of the coin holder and let it dry in the closed position. Trim the excess foam and voilà, a stealthed coin holder is born. Total time is about5 minutes besides waiting for epoxy to dry.
Its important to use something a little rigid for the hinge or else it will flip around. I considered forming my own hinge in the manner of the ash tray, but its not worth the effort to use modeling clay on something so small and cheap.
