need a little help

I have an 04 MCS 6 speed and Im loving it it's dark silver .
I was trying to turn off the auto door locks and while I was deep into the computer via the trip reset I hit the wrong switch and somehow put it in some sort of "track mode"? the air bag light is lit the traction control light and the air pressure light. and I can;t get them to go off. it drives as if the traction control is turned off. I tried unhooking the battery to no avail.I checked fuses as far as I could.
Everything was working fine till I did what I did.
The dealer said it needed 2 grand worth of work to fix it :|
I have 30 + years machincal history including diognostics ,I know a little.

If there is anyone out there that knows what I have done and can help me fix it I would appreciate it very much.
I have a 1:00 appointment weds back at the dealership I hope I can get it fixed before then I don;t like driving her like it is. I bought a scan tool and as I suspected there were no codes. any help would be great!!

Your dealer is a buffoon

There is a track mode setting, you can switch it on *and* off, plain and simple. I'll have to look in my books, it's in there somewhere. Hope to get back to you soon, but I should mention I won't get to look in my books for about a week..

I should also mention that when I get into the Lese 19 mode the display flashes ON/OFF ON/OFF but have yet to figure how to stop it from flashing.

I thought I posted my guess a few days ago, but I didn't...

How about disconnecting the battery for a while and see if it defaults back to a better state?

Turn off the track mode circuit & see if things revert back to normal. Also as HRM suggests pull the battery lead.

Here are the circuit instructions....

After some digging around. Do you happen to remember if you where past #19 while hitting buttons?

If you've reset at #21, you're really screwed. If I am not mistaken, this resets the computer to factory-settings, the settings before they put it in the car and tell it it actually is sitting in a Mini.

codes from dealer read out

Im sorry it took me so long to get back here but I have been busy as well as you. I did go back to the dealer and after running what ever tests here are the codes they came up with. code 5D8C ABS-DSC:DSC sensor CAN time out

code 0090 GM :info-memory entrypen circuit,power supply BC1

code 5E19 ABS-DSC:CAN data default from DME/DDE(DSC lamp on as long as error is p......?

code 0015 MRS:Airbag,driver ,stage 2

Code 0085 MRS:Sensor for side airbag ,right

Im not sure where I was when i did what I did but I do know that 19 is as deep as I can go now and I can;t seem to find the ASA reset anymore?
I asked them to reset the lights and they were not able to do it even though they said that they were able to before.
So what if I did wat I did in Mode 19?
Did you read that now in 19 I get an on / off reading and can;t get an affect out of it to turn it on or off. ?

back from fl.

So I didn't have any luck getting her fixed in fl. I guess she will run the rest of her life in track mode. It;s kind of sad that with all the mini lovers in the world no one knows how to correct this issue.

And it is also sad that Mini does not have a cust. service line that one could call to ask questions. I refuse to let them through parts at it. I created the problem so it must be able to be undone.

If there is a tech out there that has read this post for the first time and has any idea on this I'm more than willing to listen. Thanks !!

Have you tried getting an OBD-to-USB cable and EDIABAS/INPA software? Lots for sale cheap on fleabay, and it lets you deep into pretty much every system on the car- reset airbag lights, immobilizer synch, etc. It's what he dealer is using!

Sounds like you need someone with SSS Progman and DIS.

First thing i'd do is pull the current / past codes, save them and clear them.

2nd thing i'd do is try to re-code the insturment cluster to the car.

I have only owned my 06 MCS for a month so I may not much. but I did see on the OUTMOTORING website that they have a small pcb that you install to turn the track mode to default on when you start the car, instead of on. And then you can toggle the switch on or off, if you want. So maybe it would work in your situation. It was under the electrical section, maybe you can call or email them first, I believe it's only $50.
