Service in DC area sought.

Hi. I am getting ready for big service #2 and wonder if you could share updates on which of the major three dealers I should go to. I need a bunch of little things done. I'm thinking Tate, Towson, and Sterling. Any thoughts on recent experience or general recent summary judgments?

Thread moved to DC metro MINIs forum. I think you may get a better answer here.

You might think twice about Tate. Read the other threads here on recent service and their ability to retain a service manager.

Never had trouble at Towson or MOS.

I have heard alot of good things about MINI of Sterling. I have never had service done there though.

I am a huge fan of MINI of Towson, even though I have to drive over an hour to get there from Northern VA. It would take a lot to get me to shift to another dealer now.

Tate has had problems but has also been working VERY hard to solve them. There have been big improvements there. MINI of Sterling has one of the best techs in the country working there. They also went through a service shake up last year and I hear good things about them for the most part now.

There is a good local shop (non-dealer) in Glenwood -- the Lucky Dog Garage. The location is on MD 97 (a.k.a. Georgia Ave) noth of Olney -- almost to I70.

John Behe is active in DCMM and can handle just about anything special you want done. DCMM has a "Tech Day" meeting at John's tomorrow (Saturday, Mar.4) morning. Drop by and see his shop and meet the DCMMites.
