Great MOD for your MINI

Well, I have a great new mod for the 02 MCS (sorry 03 - 07 guy's I have not certified it for your year's but interested in seeing if someone else has done this with there later MCS).

Here is the instructions on to make your MCS (02) a little smaller....hehehehe

1. Have Washing machine die
2. Go out to Sear's and buy a new washing machine
3. Organize delivery as I was sure it would not fit in my MCS (but maybe it would)
4. Drive home (at 6pm Saturday night <---- this is very important to do this at 6pm)
5. Get on a major road or Highway (me I choose Rt 28 South in VA)
6. Get in right lane to exit the road
7. Start slowing down to avoid the car's ahead of you (i.e. take your foot off the gas but don't hit the brakes yet)
8. Wait till car behind bangs into you (this will reduce the back of the MCS a few inches)
9. your 02 MCS will go faster from the push
10. Use the car in front to trim a few inches off the front

and Bob's your auntie, you have a real cool MCS that is a few inches shorter !!!

Worked well for me !!, ok I have a bit of cosmetic damage (slight side effect) but you too can say you have a smaller MINI.

Unfortunately (another Side effect) you will need to call a Tow Company as the bloody thing will not start up after that.

A Few interesting fact's I discovered in the accident.
1.. You dont need to put on your hazard flashers they come on automatically
2.. The Drivers and passengers windows open up about 2 inches - interesting eh ?
3.. Crossing your arms and legs and putting your head down, doesnt stop you getting a sore neck/ back and knee's - hmmm will have to tell the auto racing school they are wrong, maybe it reduces injury !!!

So Now I am hoping they right the bloody thing off so I can go get an 07

Yeah the funny thing is that the doors still work like a charm !!! not a scratch or malfunction due to the newest MOD

Sheesh, that sucks... I would hope that regardless of how insurance turns out, you are found 100% NOT at fault. Since the car behind rear ended you, it seems to me they are at fault for following too close.

I hope it all turns out OK for you Dave...

Sorry to hear about your custom MOD , although I think I'll pass on this MOD. Hopefully most of the other MINI owners will pass also.

Well if they right it off (wishful thinking) I will see if I can take back or work a deal with Geico to see if I could get the hinges (doubt they will let me do that) then I will put them on my new 07 MCS, but if they say No (which I expect) then I may think about it but would have to find a different installer.

Yep the driver that hit me got charged with exactly that, following too closely.

Well at least I am still driving a Deuche engineered car, I have an enterprise rental (Jedi -erm- Jetta).... Feels a really big car, but at least I can still get around.

The neck feels better today than yesterday, so recovering well... I am spec'ing out a nice new 07 Just in case....

Have Sterling fix it, and then trade it in to them for an 07.

Why worry about the hinges? Do you have the originals?
