I don't have a picture, but it's a semi-custom brushed steel Whalen. Pro: love it's uniqueness. Con: it's bloody cold in the winter!

Don't forget about burning hot in the summer.

I have a Whalen **** right now, looking at getting another with a different custom design. I keep meaning to mail the stuff off to Doug but something keeps making me forget.

Current:

This is the bead blasted finish. It's not specifically listed on his page, but he does offer it.

They look really cool.
How does it perform. Since its heavier than stock, does it make shifting easier?

I've got a non-custom Whalen for my Alta SSK.. I want to get a custom one next, meaning I'll have one to sell.

As in non custom, do you mean just polished? or is it blasted or brushed in anyway.

If it's blasted or brushed keep me in mind when you decide to sell it.

So, How far have you made it so far? I couldn't imagine that you've made it all the way to California yet. Be safe.

...Back on topic.

We made it 12 hours, and then we both hadn't slept and couldn't sleep because of the crying cats. It was 20 degrees without windchill, so we didnt want to put the cats outside in the camper shell. She stopped just west of Little Rock, Arkansas for a break in a hotel. Started out again about 7am, and got to Wichita Falls TX at about 4:30pm yesterday. Spent some time with Gran-ma, and we're going to be off again here within 2 hours.

18 hours to Corona, CA... So we should be there mid afternoon. Will post my arrival when I can (I dont think the house we're staying in has internet).
[/threadjack]

The Whalen is brushed, with a simple engraving of the gears on top. The fact that it works so well, and having a customized one is simply a 'bling' mod, has kept me from ordering another one.

Thank you so much for all the inputs.
I will start with the basic one, the Mini logo, and a bottle of Crown Royal.
Then, if I can stand the hot and the cold, I will get a custom. But this time will be with the Chivas Regal.

Just got mine today. The design matches our roof graphic.

I'd really like one, but the whole installation thing has me worried. Basically "grab hold and pull, and if you have a sunroof, open it up so you don't bang your head". *sigh*.

YEP! throw it in 2nd and pull I'm sure that once you pop it in and out a few times it ends up being a non-issue

If there's enough of us interested, maybe Whalen would be motivated enough to design one for our CVTs. Think it's worth starting a thread to find out how many CVT owners would be interested ?
