I'm a bit disappointed by how FRAGILE the stupid emblem on the steering wheel is. Mine is cracked almost all around so it looks like it's made of glass! How do you remove it? Can you pry it off or is the thing (I HOPE not!) bolted to the steering wheel face? And does anyone know a website that sells replacement wheel logos?

PS: Moderators, sorry but I have no idea where to post this thread. Since it's cosmetic, I feel detailing is the appropriate place but let me know if you want to put it in another thread.

 

How old is the Mini? i would almost consider showing that to the dealer and see if they wouldn't at least order you a replacement, it almost sounds like that one came out of a bad batch if it's that bad.

 

You can take a look at this. It seems like a good alternative. I have not ordered it yet so im not sure how it looks in person..im not sure if I can post links to ebay but look for Mini steering wheel emblem 3d domed or something like that. Its like 25 bucks and sticks right on top. And you can order it in any color

 

I have a 2012 mini and my steering wheel emblem, is exactly as you described. My next time I'm in to my mini dealership I will point it out!

 

i've already had mine replaced once under warranty. They have to replace the entire airbag. It's already starting to do it again. this time i'm going to live with it until right before my warranty runs out

 

Mine was flaking as well after almost 3 years

The dealer looked at it and swapped it out no questions asked all under warranty.

 

My 2013 Countryman(now 1 yr old) is exhibiting the crackling in the airbag cover logo as well
