thunderhill. been there done that?
I was wondering if anyone has ever taken any track days in their mini at thunder, and if so how did you like it and also on a side note what kind of track times did you run? They are having a hpds their on 6/14/07 for $235 and since I have never taken a track day before I was considering taking the mini out there, and was wondering what you guys thought of it.

I did my first hpde at ThunderHill in March with NASA. Fairly easy track to learn. Lots of run off if you get into trouble. Not much to hit if you get out of control. Instruction with NASA was excellent.
The Mini is very forgiving to learn to drive on the track. I never felt like the rear was going to come around and I'm a very aggrssive driver for a newby to big cars on a track. I do have lots of experience in shifter karts so I felt very comfortable driving fast in the Mini.
The group 4 Mini that was there that weekend could turn around 2:10- 2:12 lap times. This as a very experienced driver with a 05 JCW MCS with a few suspension mods.
I was in group 2 and was probably over 2:20 in a stock MCS.
TH is a fun, fast friendly track to learn on.
