According to that thought, I should be one of the most advanced drivers here....lol.

Also.....we're trying to get 6 people to sign up for a track day @ LRP on June 22nd with CART. If we can get 6 then the cost will be under $300. It's 3 run sessions, a TT, and then most likely an open track after that.
How many people do you have now besides yourself? June 22 is a Wednesday. Might be hard for me but I may play hooky.

I'd be interested in going to LRP on June 22. One day after my Birthday! How do I sign-up?

www.cartct.com for the track day and go to the track day section. Trying to get the "six pack" deal going.

Besides myself there are maybe 5-6 interested but nobody has committed as of yet. I will sign up most likely in a few weeks, right after I am sure i'll have that week off. I'm not sure if we have to sign up as a group of 6 or separately and then let them know we're doing the six pack deal. I'll have to shoot them an email and find out...

Stay tuned...

No need to email them...

Read the website again and all six have to be sent in together....so we're going to have to coordinate on this if we move forward with it.

However, I got an email from Ian of SCDA and he indicates that the 86 db is new to him and some other clubs. To put it into perspective Road & Track lists the interior sound level of a stock Lotus Elise as 91 db in 1st... and the interior sound level for a stock '07 Mini Cooper S is listed as 82 db in first. Both of these cars must be louder outside than inside. But as someone said, who knows how LRP measures it....

It just seems that "someone" around LRP doesn't want us spending our money in their town.

With that said...
I am signed up for WGI 4/30 & 5/1 and I am planning LRP with SCDA on 6/1, WGI with Patroons on 6/13 (longest day). I could be up for LRP on the 6/22, but that may be iffy right now. I do want to do the 'Boggie 7/16 & 17.

It's actually June 23rd for the CART event. I was running from memory when I posted that.

I have a 1st gen R53 so it's actually two mufflers and believe you me - it's not LRP that's requiring 86db's, it's the town being stupid again. Last year the db limit was 89...

From what I can tell, this LRP noise issue goes back to a court case back in the late '50s and the sound levels have been going up and down since then but the max levels set by the court have not changed. I have contacted LRP about getting my car checked out. I will let you know how that works out.

On the bright side I have a new set of Carbo '10s front brake pad and a good set of rotors that will be going in soon (as soon as the ice in the garage thaws )

It is interesting that Calabogie has their noise limits and testing procedure listed. It is fairly simple. The passby test limit is 92 dbA at 50 ft away.

I don't think you'll have a problem...

And yes, it's goes back a long way - the noise issue at LRP. The church across the way is a major reason why there is no racing on Sunday's..

I will, but the question is when. I just got a brand new set of 10s for the stock brakes. I could use those up before I put the BBKs in. I got 4 days out of the last set Or see if Dustin will trade/exchange them for me.

What caliper do you have on the 12.2"? Is it the DP6?

You can always sell the XP 10 for the stockers if Dustin cannot take it back. Better for you to have biiger brakes ASAP.

Do you have the thin wall 12 point 14 mm spark plug socket for the r56?

No, but from what I have read any 12 point 14mm socket will do and I don't have that either. However, that is next on my list as I want to change mine out. Dustin at AutoXcooper has Brisk plugs that everyone seems to like. In the past I have use a magnet to get the plugs out and a rubber hose on the end to install the new plug.

BTY - I have modified my camera holder to fit the Recaro seats that I have. I also have noted that i can't use the Quick fit harness that I have with those seats as the holes for the belts are too low. You might want to try it.

I heard Brisk is good but they do not last long. I have a set I bought last year that I have not used it yet. I am still on OEM NGKs.

I have a 14mm 12 point deep socket we can use on wrenching saturday.

If it doesn't warm up hear soon, wrenching saturday may be sometime in July

but I need to start doing things sooner than that - still looking at either 4/9 or 4/16...more likely the 16th

Sorry most likely cannot make it. I am planning to do wrenching Saturday with Eddie.

That is quite a drive to be a fan. I have only been a "fan groupie" once when I went to see schao at the SCCA Regionals at WGI and I have to admit, I was awefully bored. I believe you were his crew chief and I was in charge of the umbrella.

Have some family issues coming up in the next few weeks, so it looks like I'm out for WGI in April. See you guys in June at LRP.

Got a reply from LRP about noise:
"We discovered that most street legal vehicles ran in the high 70 to low 80 dB levels. If your car is equipped with an aftermarket exhaust that is still emissions legal ( cat converter and resonator) it would most likely not have any issues passing the sound level set for SCDA. We measure sound appx. 50ft from the centerline of the car as the car goes by at speed on the front straight."

Eddie, when you see the person there with the noise gun, just lift and do not accelerate. No acceleration = no noise.

You should be fine. I have only seen them black flag some vipers, corvettes and one lotus that was really loud. And it was loud.
