for the July 11-12 SCDA event, I may have Porsche Bob coming as well, along with my Mazda MX5/Toy MR2 buddies from VA. You should get a ride from PB in his 997 GT3 if you want to really feel some SPEED.

I will register in a few days, need to give the charge card a little rest.
Hey guys... Thanks for the invite. I’d love to go, embarrassingly, I haven’t done any track days at all this year.

My summer has been ridiculously busy so far. I’ve still got 2 weeks in Europe and a cruise almost in the same month to go on this year plus 2 UTV events.

So far, this hasn’t been the year to do any track days.

Don’t think I’m ignoring anyone. I’d love to go and meet some fellow members, it’s just been one of those years.

The car is complete set except for a new set of tires needed.. that’s it.

Thanks, hope to meet up with ya’ll soon.

Mark, you are always welcome to join us, hopefully soon. If you do not mind, either Eddie or I will keep pinging you with our track dates.

Eddie, APS, the mpgs x2, Zeke, and hms,

Had an absolute great time at WGI. The weather held out and there was sunshine in the afternoon and evening. There is nothing like open track.

Zeke and Eddie, post some videos. I have our group pic I will send out this weekend.

How was lewis Hamilton. I only saw his maclaren Mercedes very briefly driving past the car's tent in the pits.

Had some family issues in May and now some car issues (supercharger gasket), but I'll be ready for WGI next month.

Claymore,

Is that SCDA WGI July 11-12. If it is, I would likely be there.

It's a Track oriented Mini; you will be constantly working on it.

That car was awesome! If only we could have seen it being driven at 100%....still, wonderful sounding machine! Tony S drove it to a 1:42 Lap time.....on rain tires. F1 track record is a 1:33 set in 1980. Ultimate track record is a 128:3 by Ryan Brisco in an Iindycar car.

Now Tony Stewart is trying to get the upcoming NASCAR race in august to use the full course...

Search YouTube for videos from yesterday - there are a bunch plus the tv broadcast is there as well.

Slinger - yup, SCDA. Looks like they've expanded the track time to five 30-minute sessions per day.

WGI is looking doubtful right now...doggie bills

But I am doing LRP on 7/1. Tires still have tread, need new pads though.

Well guys...I'll be at WGI, but in a different car. I just sold the Mini and bought an '06 BMW Z4M Coupe. It all came together pretty quickly - I'd had an eye out for one locally, and it almost literally fell into my lap. The stars aligned, and now she's mine.

I'll still hang out with you, though

On a related note, if anyone wants to buy a completely unused front set of XP10's and Bobcats, let me know and I'll bring them up with me.

I expect they are for a stock 1st gen Mini? I know someone who could use a set.

I was just about to PM him when I read your question.... if they were for a second gen, I’d have bought them just to have an extra set.

On a side note, I’m in Savannah, GA right now with my wife. I can’t believe I’m soooo close to Roebling Road and can’t do anything about it...

Claymore, Will need to see and ride in that baby at WGI. I am likely to be there.

VV, I will know about LRP early next week. Will speak with Ian then to see if I can get in. How were the 225/45 17 Nitto NT01? Am thinking of moving up to 225 from 215.

The Nittos felt great last time out at Lime Rock, but I'm sure S-Driver will smoke me with his Hoosiers. Hope to see you at the track soon.

I emailed MPG Dan, have not heard back.

There are 2 sets of Hoosiers with wheels on NAM here for $900, but they are 205x17s

Thanks Eddie, Looked at them a few times. Did not like the 205 40 17 size. The car already runs out of rpms at too many turns . I felt I did not need smaller diameter tires.

Ok.......install is coming along. Brakes/rotors are back on the car, have mounted the inlet ducts to my beater bumper skin so now I just need to tidy up the hose with zip ties and maybe put some duct tape around the duct hose so it doesnt wear through prematurely. I am also going to dremmel out the fog light opening to get the full 3" of inlet diameter.

Hopefully there will be open slots when i call Ian....
