SCDA HPDE Schedule

What group is running at LRP on Friday? I will be there with SCDA on May 3 -- that wiil be my first day this year. I hope to prove that the Alta Accessport Stage One tune will run on the track without causing boost drop. You guys give me grief over the Accessport but it really is a cool little device, and the Stage One tune is not overly aggressive. IMO, it simply maximizes the FMIC and better air flow from the hot and cold pipes. The key is to not let the boost spike too high.
Slinger, I don't know if I told you, but I took your advice and went with the IE fixed camber plates. Those, plus my other suspension mods, have the MINI running the best it has ever ran. I am probably done adding anything to it. I'll just replace whatever needs replacing with upgrades.
See you all soon.

It was an excelent day - Mid 70s and blue sky. Track was really good and I had a great ride with one of the instructors. Very "clean" and uneventful, just the way everyone likes it. But as most people complain about LRP, the sessions are short and a lot of time is lost due to the "Club". Also, they are imposing a very low sound level - 87 db. A lot of cars made it and no one was "spoken to" or kicked off the track, there were a few cars that might have been a little loud.

I was thinking how great a day it would be to be at the track! Rotating sessions with the Club makes for some long breaks in between sessions. I may head up to WGI next weekend with Trackmasters, and tack an extra day on Monday with NASA. Waiting for confirmation before I book a place to stay. I had the alignment checked and I reduced the rear settings from -2 to -1.75 and kept the fronts at -2.5. That was my last item to sort out so the car should be set at this point...until something happens at the track, of course!

Ehhh, you should do the the SCDA event right after that. You get two tracks! BUT....it's not on the weekend as you know. Why does every other club out there get weekend dates and not SCDA??

Saturday morning was chilly (around 32) when I was scheduled for sign off laps, so I had my street tires on. I was asked to identify all the flaggers, and then was asked what color jacket was flagger #3 wearing! Had to do a couple heel-toe shifts and after 3 laps we came in, during which time I must've pointed 25 cars by! Got signed off for open track, and went out again, with my left hand essentially permanently out of the car giving point bys. There were some very fast cars out there...sub 2:05 laps. Over lunch break, I put the R-comps on, and my speeds increased during the afternoon as the track warmed up. Got gobs of track time; actually came in during a couple of sessions just to take a breather in the pits. Same schedule Sunday, with streets on AM, and R-comps on in the PM. Car performed very well, and the brakes and tires held up nicely. The only other MINI there with Trackmasters was a novice student from PA with a second generation JCW.
Monday with NASA started off with a 25 minute oil clean up delay after one of the instructors leaked from the toe all the way into the pits, so our time got shorted. Sessions seemed so short compared to open track, but the speeds were lower, and I didn't need to keep my hand out of the car quite as much. Cold track in the morning, but warm by afternoon again. Done by 4, and home by 10. Car and driver need some rest!
Three other MINIs there for this event, but none in my run group so I couldn't do any lead/follows. Two yellow verts, and a pepper white modified MINI from Maine.

Guys, I am glad to hear you guys are having lots of dunno the track and off. This year will be too busy for me and my move is coming quite soon.
S-driver, veggi, Eddie, GKP, suss et al., not sure if you guys want to come on over to my mini parts garage sale. Lots of tires, rims, filters, tools and misc garage things must be liquidated. Maybe around the end of may timeframe. What do you guys think? We can grab lunch around here as well.
